Michael.S.ParticipantI am one of the people who thought staying in Cle. was the best option for LeBron, but what the hell is the big deal about going to play with Wade and Bosh? Who wouldn’t want to play with other great players? Think about that for a second, he gets the opportunity to play with players the caliber of Wade and Bosh and he is supposed to pass that up? Keep in mind that they are all very close friends, too and they can have fun there(which is what Lebron is all about). Then people say he took the easy way out but guess what; the last seven years of his career he been doing things the hard way and the Cleveland organization simply failed to put *any* player that was a real player alongside James, not one. Then people say he doesn’t have that competitive fire or killer mentality. Did he not have it in that incredible ECF game 5 4th quarter and OT against the Pistons? Did he not have it in all of the Cavs playoff battles against the Wizards where he wouldn’t let them lose and hit multiple game winners while creating several fueds and rival? Or the amazing ECF game 2 against ORL when he hit one of the greatest game winners of all time? He did have it- but for all the great performances he has had he has never gotten all the way because of lack of/non-existant supporting cast and you can thank non other than the Cleveland organization for that.
Sorry for the rant

IndianaBasketballParticipantCouldn’t you have just put this in one of the other LeBron threads?

the I in winParticipantGoing there makes sense. He will have fun there, he will win there, winning championships will bring him his legacy no matter where or with who he plays. People are bitter know but winning heals all wounds. They might not win it the first year but does anyone really think they won’t get multiple rings?

JRdaFilipinoParticipantWhat confuses me is..
So NBA players are measured not only by skill and talent, but by how many championships they have and how vital they were to that championship. Regardless if hes playing with Wade and Bosh, he will still be playing a vital role if the Heat do ever win a championship. People are mad at Lebron for signing with the Heat because.. well, idk why, because when you look at a players overall career, its the championships that separate the good from the GREAT, and thats all Lebron is trying to be great. Sure, this may tarnish his case as the best individual basketball player of all time, but Lebron just wants to win and when it comes down to it thats what defines a players career. Guys like Barkley, Malone, Stockton, etc, great players in their own rights without championship rings, they will always be seen as those great players who just werent great enough. Lebron, already 7 seasons in and still without a ring doesn’t want that. He is, in my eyes, taking control of his destiny and doing whatever it will take to win a championship. He is so dedicated to winning a championship he is willing to even be the “2nd guy” on a championship team, how many great players would do that just to win? Well, Lebron is.. and as much as I think it sucks that because of this he will probably never be regarded as the best of all time, this was a move Lebron made because what mattered most to him was a championship ring. Thats what every NBA player aims for, or should aim for, to be an NBA champion, and that.. clearly.. is at the top of Lebron list of things I want to do before I retire. IF he does ever win multiple championships, would people bring up that he’s playing with 2 other great players, yes.. but at the end of the day, he would still be a champion and have multiple championships so how can you deny an NBA champion.. simple, you can’t.

knicks82ParticipantNo lie…I hope Lebron takes a swim in the ocean this summer and gets attacked by a shark. But he’ll probably talk the shark into joining the Miami cHeat and they’ll win the Championship.

SwatLakeCityParticipantHere is what I don’t like about it. Lebron is amazing first of all. He is a superstar by himself. He led the Cavs from almost unthinkable to playoff contenders. He can turn an entire franchise around by himself. Teams should look to develop or build their team around a player like him. Miami is D-wade’s team; he has been there his entire career, and will likely not move somewhere else. He already let the Heat to a championship in 2006 with Shaq, so of the 3 he is the only one that has won a title, but James can do that by himself with the right personnel around him. He doesn’t need Wade, he is better than that. All of these championships that he will win with Miami will be depending on Wade because it is his team, not Lebron’s, and certainly not Bosh’s. He’s better than that, he proved that with Cleveland. This is why I believe he should have stayed in Cleveland or moved to Chicago or New Jersey. (probably Chicago because they have a history of winning)

sacphil_08ParticipantWell its obvious lebron is going to miami with aspirations of winning a championship which is obvious. But michael jordan brought up a very valid point and its the same way i thought of the situation in that if lebron is to ever live up to the hype then he’d have to get through those guys (wade, bosh, boston, orlando) to win a championship and truly earn his keep. now he doesnt have to worry about getting through those guys and jordan (who went through PLENTY of HOFers en route to his rings) is disappointed in lebron because of this and rightfully so. Realistically i dont think miami will be as successful as everyone is making them out to be. Theyll win 50+ games every season but i dont think theyll be able to get through boston and orlando barring injury.

mgreener_34Participant“Guys like Barkley, Malone, Stockton, etc, great players in their own rights without championship rings, they will always be seen as those great players who just werent great enough. ”
Wrong, they will always be known as those great players who were unfortunate enough to be in the NBA when Jordan was. No one can discredit those guys, they just got unlucky just like everyone else in the 90’s. You will never hear that about LeBron. No team was scared of the Cavs.
The reason this was such a sleezy move was because these three players attempted to eliminate competition like Jordan was saying. Hard work and good teamwork can overcome complacent talent, but if this team does win it all it’s almost as useless as the Yankee’s world series this past year, because they bought it. Hell if people discredit the Rockets of the 90’s then why not this team.

Michael.S.ParticipantThats lame. It’s ok that they never won becuase they played the almighty bulls and his airness…that sounds like a childish excuse.

BiggysmallsParticipantLebron took the easy way out…can anybody argue that. No. Simply put, he took the easy way out. Wheres the challenge, or uphill battle when your playing with 2 other top 10 talents in the NBA. He chickened out on Cleveland, and followed Wade and Bosh to Miami.
Jammin Lemmon, is it lame, did you actually read that whole post? You know whats Childish? Lebron becoming a frontrunner, and ditching Cleveland for Miami where they can all try to eliminate competition by teaming up.
