Monta Ellis to the kings?

I think this would be a perfect fit. Monta is one of the best scorers in the NBA. He would fit perfectly next to Vazquez, one of the most underrated players in the league. If the kings get Monta, watch out. Landry and Cousins are a great frontcourt. Milealone will turn thia franchise around. McLemore can be the sixth man.

Just what Sacramento needs another inefficient guy with a score first mentality. Smh seriously dude terrible idea especially when they have Ben Mc and Thornton on the books.

  You’re telling me that they should stay away from a borderline superstar because they have Marcus freaking Thornton and a rookie on the roster that hasn’t even proven himself? Makes perfect sense!

    Monta is not a borderline superstar. He is a high volume shooter who sucks at shooting. You would invest money in a player like that and disrupt any sort of team chemistry the Kings may have have a low percentage chucker and blackhole on offense? Makes perfect sense!

  You think so? A guy that averages 20 points a game for his career and is coming off his most efficient season deserves some freaking respect. The kings would be getting a borderline superstar.

    actually he didnt. This was one of his more down seasons. The only thing he excelled in was assists which was a nice part of a inefficient season for him. you can go to espn.com and type in ellis’s name and view his stats if you want to ascertain the truth.

      ellis has been regressing and he shot the worst fg% of his career since his rookie year this past season. not to mention a dismal 28% from 3. his assist numbers have been consistant with the numbers he’s put up the last 3 seasons.
      the last thing the kings need is somebody to step in and take 25 shots a game away from their developing players.

Observing the Sacramento Kings over the past few years is a lot like observing my hometown Cleveland Browns up until recently: they’ve had no identity.
NFL teams need to decide what they are. If they’re a running team, they need to pass just often enough to keep eight guys out of the box so they can keep running. If they’re a passing team, they need to run just often enough to keep a safey up so they can get the ball down the field.
Business is similar. The most successful companies decide where their focus is and they do that well. Struggling companies try to juggle way too many offerings and they end up not exceling at any of them.
Basketball is the same way. Yes, your goal is to win, but how do you plan to win? There are a number of different styles that can be effective. It doesn’t really matter which style you choose, as long as you execute it well. But if you don’t choose a style, you have no chance at being successful. “A goal without a plan is a wish.”
What are the Kings? They just seem to always have an ecclectic assortment of odds and ends, usually with plenty of talent, but there seems to be no real plan in assembling it. You can have the highest-quality parts to a car in the world, but if you don’t assemble them properly, you’re not going anywhere.
The best teams in the league know exactly how they want to win. It seems like all the Kings know is that they want to win.

You’re using the word superstar way too loosely. He hasn’t even made an all star team, and I personally think of a “superstar” as not just an all star, but a franchise talent who you can build around who will make all NBA teams and start in all star games.
I would say Ellis is on par with guys like Kevin Martin and Jamal Crawford, they’ve just played on better teams than him so their numbers aren’t so inflated.
McLemore has way more potential than Ellis, and honestly Thornton isn’t even that much of a notch below Ellis. If the Kings are gonna make another big move they need to pull off a trade with Jason Thompson/Salmons/Fredette/Patterson to pick up a quality SF who can score better than Mbah a Moute.

Rumour has it Monta will be making his film debut this summer in BallHogg Day.
