gregoden08ParticipantYou say this about every Canada prospect…It’s annoying. Every single vid is about a Canadian player and how he is so underrated. He is the 20th ranked pf so I don’t see him being a top-20 player anytime.

gregoden08ParticipantThere is underrated talent EVERYWHERE though. I’m glad that you’re showing the vid, but than you say top-20 player. I don’t see it. Yes, I see talent, but the 2012 class is filled with LOTS AND LOTS of pf’s and c’s and he I don’t see him doing anything extroadinary to push himself into the top-20. That’s all.
Oh, and to answer your question, I expect you not to be bias towards every canadian prospect. I live in America, I don’t defend every American prospect. If I think that they are overrated, I say it and vice versa. The only time I am relatively bias is with prospects from my state, and I still complain about their weaknesses etc.

gregoden08ParticipantI am a really big fan of Kabongo and Wiltjer. Wiltjer plays in the same league as me for HS b-ball and he is a straight beast. Just saying that you are overrating this guy a little if you think he will be a top-20 player.

OhCanada-ParticipantWebster Chan is ranked higher then Bennett right now which is obviously wrong. Im just tellling you how it is. Pangos is unranked at the same time he is compared to Nash, Birch is ranked #3 for 2012’s class yet alot of people believe Bennett can be just as good. Why dont you see the talent there. He has legit peremeter jumpers, he has explosive leaping abillity, he jams harder, higher, and stronger then most NBA players and he is 17, he is 6’6 220 and he is 17, able to play SF and PF and he is extremely raw with all this talent. Top 20 is understating it.

gregoden08ParticipantI said I SEE TALENT…Top-20 understating it? Lol your funny. PAngos compared to Nash? Ugh…enough said lol.
You just said he’s raw…he’s 6,6, athletic and raw…there you go. A lot of players are like that. That’s why he’s not top-20.
Also, all I see is dunks and outlet passes…SOOOO IMPRESSIVE.

ZaratukParticipantI think the best he can go after his two remaining years at Findlay Prep is Top 50-60 IMO.Right now, he’s just an athlete, but he will be a good player if he can develop as a 3. I have to admit Pangos is underated in the States, but he’s overrated in Canada. Next Steve Nash? Let’s just say pause. However I like him alot he’s a pure point.

OMARtheLEGENDParticipantk let me break it down for you …… im going to list a few canadian basketball players you may have seeen play in the nba or in the fibas that played canadian hs ball and then im going to tell you what colliege they either went or did go to.
Steve nash- Santa Clara im mean please the nba best playmaker in a long time SANTA CLARA
Jay Triano- The coach of the toronto raptors is widley regarded as one of our countrys best ballers to ever live guess what colliege he went to play at bet you cant?……drum roll plz……….Hold your applause……….Simon Fraser university
Joel Anthony- the miami heat backup center went to unlv and wasnt drafted
Jermaine Anderson- Canadian national team starting guard played at fordham wasnt drafted
now these are only a few players that i could think of that played hs ball in canada and didnt get their deserved hype outside of canada. Guys like tristan, myck, cory joseph, andrew wiggins dont count becasue they had to go down south to get reconized. Now greg oden plz explain if their are soo many scout up north how come these players who range from great to very sevicable on any colliege team didnt get any where but mid major interest plz give me a reason, and in jays case no U.S. interest at all?0 - Posted on: Sat, 09/04/2010 - 9:10pm #394439

kaceyParticipantThat is a bad argument.
Over the history of the NBA, there have been plenty of great players that played collegiate ball at a small school. It happens.
Canadian high school ballers Ramon Harris and Jamaal Magloire both played at UK. Last I checked, UK wasn’t a mid-major.

OMARtheLEGENDParticipantI am just stating the obvious scouts need to give credit where it is due. Especially after we produced arguably one of the nbas greatest players.
Of course there are always going to be the odd person that got recognized magloire, mucchlough that went to good programs but the ones that got missed far out way the odd one the US found.0 - Posted on: Sat, 09/04/2010 - 9:27pm #394445

OhCanada-ParticipantObviously Pangos isnt going to be the next Nash, the comparison is simply because he is a great playmaker, penetrator, leader and shooter. And hes white, lets be real if he was black noone would ever compare him to nash. Pangos reminds me of a playmaking Jameer Nelson, as for Bennett he isnt just dunking. He runs the floor faster then some gaurds, he dribbles well and his frame is massive. If he grows to be at least 6’8 he can play PF even thou Canada wants him as SF he can still be a combo. His wingspan has to be at lest 7-Feet and honestly is super explosive. He has range beyond 3 and he has to work on skills. Yes everybody needs to work on skills but the difference is not everyone is a gifted freak of nature like this guy. 17 and he`s jumping out of the gym like that! He gets even a bit of a mid-range game going and a post up game going and he is Top 20 no questions asked.

gregoden08ParticipantAgain, do you understand that most top prospects are very athletic? What makes him any different? I can’t see into the future, but Im pretty sure he won’t grow much more judging from his build. He looks like he peaked physically (which isn’t a bad thing I guess). Anyhow, you say IF he adds all those things. What makes you think he will? A lot of athletic players rely solely on athleticism and power. Even if he does add those things, he won’t be top-20. You make it sound like the other top prospects won’t improve. Most of them will lol. Again, I say you’re bias because you keep saying top-20 no questions asked when he is the 20th ranked pf at his position. Let me repeat, this is one of the deepest classes in terms of big men in quite some time. Also, this guy should be a senior…He’s already 17.
Let me ask you this, if this guy was from the U.S., would you be making this video?
