valentineMock Draft 4.9!!!!!!!!
http://www.nbadraft.net/nba_mock_drafts/comments/25013
I left the Mock up your you to look at…so im gonna post some trade talk and trade ideas
(If you want talk about your Fav team…tell me and we could talk) Im gonna talk about 5-7 teams
1. Chicago-picks 16 and 26. I think the Bulls should trade both of these picks and try to add Stoudemire. Maybe 2nd round pick,Stoudemire and Dudley to Chicago for 16th,26th picks, Miller and Tim Thomas.
2. Minnesota-picks 6,18,28. With these 3 picks, you need to take some looks at almost everyone. I thought about a (6th overall pick and Miller for Wallace and 12th overall pick deal) but you dont know if a Tier 1 PG will be there. I think Maybe trading a Pick to pick up a pure C (Dalembert, Miller) and at 6 : maybe this pick to Chicago for Hinrich?
3.La Clippers-Pick 1. The Clippers will talking trades. Rumors I heard said that Dunleavy loves Rubio. But passing over Griffin? No way. Plus you have two monster contracts in Randolph and Davis so if they can move 1 or both contracts and add some less-hurting contracts but move the 1st pick…they will do it. Also, if they take Griffin, I think LBJ will look at the Clippers in 2010.
4.Portland- Picks 24. With alot of 2nd round picks, Portland wants to move into the lottery. The question is how high? I think they offer a shooter (Webster, Outlaw) or a big man (Frye, Pryzbilla) they can move to the 12 or 13th spots. The only think is : Which player are they gonna target?
5.New York Knicks-Pick 8. Im A knick fan. I think if Holiday is there at 8, you take him. With no pick in 2010, this is a hit-or -miss pick. I suggest trading down to about 13 and add a 2nd round pick. Take Earl Clark!!!
6. Memphis-Picks 2 and 27. Memphis is either Rubio, Thabeet or Hill. They need to swap picks because Rubio is not going to Memphis. Maybe trade with a Washington and add some young pieces ( Blatche, Crittenton, Magee)
7. Milwaukee-pick 10. Milwaukee is a hot spot. With the 10th pick, they can add a star. I think moving down and adding some 2nd rounders would be a ideal situation (trade with Portland-10th pick for 24th, 33rd and 38th picks) because Milwaukee know how to take good players in round 2 and develop them. Also, see what the market is for Richard Jefferson and Micheal Redd.

j1232eParticipantBig balls at number 2 either you will be praised or a couple years down the road regreting you passed on thabeet or a rubio (trade)
0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/03/2009 - 2:58pm #156349

auberParticipantHill will ultimately be the Grizzlies choice, but not their pick.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/03/2009 - 3:11pm #156359

R-Dot-13Participanti love the rodrique pick, he seems like a very good prospect to me .
and i think that if harden doesnt go #3, he may drop all the way to the raptors, which i would love,0- Posted on: Wed, 06/03/2009 - 3:22pm #156361
DeRozanfan11I like it, but Hill at #2? I don’t think that the Grizzlies pass on Rubio or Thabeet. Also Flynn at #6? Minnesota might pick Flynn, but I don’t think that they pass on Harden or DeRozan.

QHaynes123Rubio-Does not wanna play there
Thabeet-Gasol is more of a 5 so he’s outFlynn is the Safe PG. He will go top 8
Harden is good but his upside is limited and DeRozan is too much of a project…
0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/03/2009 - 3:32pm #156369
ch15r36isParticipantYou lost me with Jordan Hill at #2.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/03/2009 - 3:35pm #156372
QHaynes123Hill a potential 20-10 guy…why waste time and Try to Trade Rubio or move Gasol to the 4 by taking Thabeet?
0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/03/2009 - 9:09pm #156448
RoxthemallParticipantSacramento will never trade Thompson or anyone else to get Rubio… They would probably do it if Rubio was happy to play in Memphis (or OC). Memphis will not draft him as he will maybe never come back. Now, it’s pretty sure that he will fall to 4. No need to trade.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/04/2009 - 12:46am #156473
QHaynes123thats what i said…If Memphis takes Rubio and he decided he wont play in the NBA unless its under his terms
He could play for Memphis for 1 season ( his 3rd year under contract)
and be a FA at 22….and then he could go to a team in a big market…why risk that?
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/04/2009 - 8:58am #156601
QHaynes123Overall, I think Memphis will just take Hill or Thabeet.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/04/2009 - 10:05am #156641
joecheck88Participantgrizz should take thabeet. why is everone so high on gasol? he is solid big man, who in my opinion will not get much better than he already is. he was the only legitimate big man on a bad team so ithink his numbers are inflated because he would not have had that playing time on a good team. draft thabeet and bring gasol off the bench.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/04/2009 - 10:16am #156645
QHaynes123Yea but Thabeet and Gasol are both C’s
Gasol is more offensive to Thabeet’s Defense.
They need a PF so they would look at Thabeet.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/04/2009 - 11:00am #156663

2K_DAVISParticipantwtf lawal to the hawks makes no sense
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/04/2009 - 11:03am #156667
QHaynes123yea it does…The Hawks will have 7 players under contract when the season is over. Marvin Williams’ qualifying offer will be 5.5 Mil….you dont need that. ATL can look for a PG but you need to give Law..1 more season. Resign Bibby and Draft Lawal to have a another potential big body to deal with Howard and Garnett.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/04/2009 - 11:10am #156674
joecheck88Participantyea lawal is a true pf and fits the hawks with his athleticism. and with no centers around lawal can be a decent pick.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/04/2009 - 11:12am #156676
QHaynes123Trinajoe…any pick you like?
Dont like?
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/04/2009 - 11:15am #156677
joecheck88Participanti know thabeet and gasol are both centers but why does everyone have gasol pegged as the center for this franchise. gasol will not be much better than he was this year and thabeet could give almost as much as gasol with better defense. gasol is a backup not a starter
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/04/2009 - 11:20am #156678
joecheck88Participanti think most of your picks could happen but i think teague to phoenix is a reach but who knows with them. i think blair dis well enough at the combine to get in the lottery. everything else looks possible.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/04/2009 - 11:21am #156680
QHaynes123I agree. But, Gasol is good and why waste a top 5 pick with another C? I agree Thabeet could be a good Defensive player now but Memphis needs another good player to Start.
Gasol will be a 14-7-2 guy in his prime
Thabeet will be a 18-14-3 guy in his prime
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/04/2009 - 11:42am #156684
joecheck88Participantits not waste because he is the best player for them. why draft rubio when you used a top 5 pick 2 years ago with conley especially with no guarantee that rubio will be any good, he is essentially what conley was a young player with potential. they wont draft harden with gay & mayo. and i know you think hill can be a twenty ten guy but truth is he is all potential, basically a clone o darell arthur maybe 2 inches taller. there is no reason to think arthur cant be a good player. take thabeet and you instantly become better defensively which makes a better team.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/04/2009 - 11:48am #156685
QHaynes123Memphis would only take Rubio if they can find a trade partner before the draft
Harden…no
Hill is probably the best fit. Gasol cannot play PF, he is not fast enough
I said before, trade the pick and add Stoudemire.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/04/2009 - 11:55am #156690
joecheck88Participantim saying gasol is a bench player thabeets backup. the pick will be thabeet or rubio. if thabeet gasol goes to bench. if rubio, pick is probably traded to sac and then memphis would get hill and another player.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/04/2009 - 12:00pm #156692
QHaynes123yea. overall i dont think Thabeet would be the smart pick unless they trade down.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/04/2009 - 1:49pm #156726
ZKParticipant“Thabeet will be a 18-14-3 guy in his prime”
I am willing to bet he NEVER averages 18 points, 14 rebounds or 3 blocks in any single season in his entire career. He is a 14-11-2 guy AT BEST.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/04/2009 - 2:55pm #156756
QHaynes123Dude…im telling you…he will be
his inside game is solid and he could still improve…like a little turnaround yao shot
He’s 7-3 and could sky over most PF and C’s so if he gets under 10 rebs in a season…i would be shocked
He will block the ball..trust me
What else did you like in my mock ZK?
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/04/2009 - 3:38pm #156778
ZKParticipantAre in Dwigh Howard territory. He(Thabeet) will have a good career, but he will never be as good a defender as Dwight.
I do love the idea of him in OKC, though. Thats exactly the kind of guy they need, there would be almost no pressure to score on him, which is what he needs. I like Flynn at Minnesota, they will either go Wing-PG or PG-Wing with their first two picks. But he would be a nice pick. And I think Rubio will end up in Sacramento, I just think he will go via OKC instead of Memphis.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/04/2009 - 3:41pm #156781
QHaynes123if memphis passes on Rubio then who do they take?
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/04/2009 - 3:45pm #156787
ZKParticipantI am not suggesting playing Gasol at the four, that would be a train wreck. But teams typically need at least three bigs in the rotation and they could easily bring one of those guys off the bench to start.
Another thing I have read is Tyreke Evans. This makes no sense to me, but I have read they are very interested. Probably nothing though. Conley, Evans, Mayo, Gay, they would need five balls for that team…
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/04/2009 - 3:48pm #156792
QHaynes123I think they need to call the Suns and try to get Stoudemire and give up the 2nd pick…your thoughts?
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/04/2009 - 3:53pm #156794
ZKParticipantLol. But a trade of Gay/#2 for Stoudemire/#14 is great for both teams. Phx could draft Ricky. Wow that would be a great team for years to come. It is good for Memphis too, they could focus on developing Mayo and Conley pick up a F.A. with all that cap space. That would be a very nice deal.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/04/2009 - 4:09pm #156804
QHaynes123I think if Phx can pull that deal off…they could also think about trading Nash.
Maybe Nash to Portland for Webster, Outlaw and 24th
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/04/2009 - 4:25pm #156811
ZKParticipantWould do that. But yeah I would shop Nash, Im sure there is some team with its window closing who wants one more shot at a ‘chip. But if not, Nash would be a good guy for Rubio to learn behind.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/04/2009 - 4:33pm #156816
QHaynes123I think Portland would pull the trigger because they are somewhat of a win-now team….
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/04/2009 - 5:44pm #156860
joecheck88Participantportland is like the youngest team in the league, how are they a win now team?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/05/2009 - 12:49am #156919
QHaynes123Because they have all thier pieces together and the west is down. What i mean by the west is down is that there are like 5 real teams you could see winning a title….
Portland is young but how many young teams have we seen not make it to a title and break apart?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/05/2009 - 5:31pm #157237

knicksfreakParticipantBest draft I’ve seen. I agree that Curry will go to the Warriors and see the 2/4 trade. The onlt thing I disagree with is Harden. With his athleticism no longer in doubt I believe he stays top 5. Washington can be a contender and wont want to take on a project in Derozan over an instant helper like Harden.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/05/2009 - 5:35pm #157240
QHaynes123Its funny …iwas gonna update him to Was just now
Let me ask you a question…do you see a little Kobe in DeRozan?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/05/2009 - 5:39pm #157243
btownkidshoulnt lester hudson be a notable pick
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/05/2009 - 5:48pm #157248
QHaynes123No,,,i dont think he will be a good NBA player…i mean i want him to succeed but i dont see it…
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/05/2009 - 5:54pm #157256
btownkidwhy wont lesta be good
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/05/2009 - 5:54pm #157258

iguapops420ParticipantHudson will end up having a Flip Murray type career. High character guy, self made, mature, good athlete, long wingspan, warriors mentality, and true willingness and desire to get better. At best you’ve got Flip Murray minus baggage or Smush Parker plus heart.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/05/2009 - 5:56pm #157259
btownkidwHATS WRONG WITH FLIP MURRAY
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/05/2009 - 5:59pm #157262
QHaynes123I dont know about that…IMO…to make a good Mock…you have to pick the guys you believe in…I just dont see it…and im not the only 1
this websites mock has him going undrafted
he has limited upside and who has he really played?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/05/2009 - 6:01pm #157265
btownkidwhos stats are better? anyone?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/05/2009 - 6:07pm #157269
QHaynes123Doesnt matter who stats were better…I mean he played 2 seasons at the D1 level….
OK…lets take a test
Hudson or
Lawson
Curry
Mills
Rubio
Jennings
FlynnHe wouldnt even beat any of those guys….
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/05/2009 - 6:10pm #157270
btownkidall curry does is shoot hudson can rebound bet assist and still match up with curry with points
I will say that brandon jennings will probably be a better nba player but the rest not a chance0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/05/2009 - 6:11pm #157272
btownkidyou still havent named someone with better stats its imposible and you know it
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/05/2009 - 6:13pm #157271

iguapops420ParticipantI’m not saying anything poor about Hudson, or Murray, you posted while i was in the proccess. Hudson may end up going undrafted in which case he will have a successful euro/nbdl career, but taken by the right team in the right situation, Hudson need not be slept on. Hudson can flat out score the ball. Who did Rodney Stuckey ever compete against, who did Jason Thompson ever compete against. Some players you just have to watch an stop reading draft website comparisons.
Questions of competion?
To answer that, consider that he scored 35 points against Memphis, 27 against Mississippi State, 26 against UNLV, and 36 against Vanderbilt. He also had the NCAA’s first ever quadruple-double, with 25 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists and 10 steals against mighty Central Baptist College. Even more impressive is the fact that Hudson has done all this after sitting out all of last year and not having practiced with UT-Martin while he became NCAA eligible after failing to graduate from his Junior College. He then proceeded to drop 35 points on the best team in America (at the time was Memphis that had CD-R Antonio Andersonm and the amazing Derrick Rose) in his first real basketball game. Usually there is an adjustment period that JUCO players need to go through before they are able to reach their full potential at the D-1 level. For Hudson, there was none.
For a team Drafting in the mid to late second round. Hudson is worth the gamble. High reward Low risk.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/05/2009 - 6:18pm #157283
QHaynes123I understand what your saying..and if Hudson gets drafted good for him
But i dont think he will be that good…
I dont think on a real D1 team, playing in a D1 conference and played NBA prospects every day….he wouldnt dominate like his numbers say
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/05/2009 - 6:21pm #157286

iguapops420ParticipantDon’t get me wrong his chances of failing to become an NBA player are FAR greater than becoming one. But on a team like the Lakers he’d fit nicely beside of a Kobe Bryant. On a team like the Suns where he’s asked to score, he’d look nice. But if you’re asking him to be a PG you’re in for a world of hurt. If you’re asking Lester Hudson to be Lester Hudson, you’ve made a wise choice.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/05/2009 - 6:24pm #157292
QHaynes123I Agree. He could be like David Wesley?
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/06/2009 - 5:57am #157470
QHaynes123I updated my mock a little bit
-a lot of movement
-Trade talk0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/06/2009 - 6:41pm #157874

knicksfreakParticipantI dont see any Kobe in Derozan. Derozan isnt fluid enough. He has a kind of stiffness about him. I think Gerald Green was a better player coming out of H.S. than Derozan is after a year of college. He doesnt have a fire about him. I see a good athlete, streaky shooter, without any definitive NBA skills. I like your pick of Holiday for us. Hes my 2nd choice behind Jennings. I’m not high on Curry but I like Clark’s size and upside.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/06/2009 - 6:46pm #157876
QHaynes123im a knick fan so i think Holiday would be a good fit.
As a Knick fan, Im growing for Curry. He is a 6-3 PG who loves to take the big shots.
I see a little Kobe in DeRozan at his highest potential. He has the skills, athleticism and ability I heard the thing on DeMar is hes kinda shy too.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/06/2009 - 6:48pm #157877
xbadgerhustlerParticipantQ, Rubio has to sign the rookie contract and he won’t sign it with Memphis by so if he waits to come to the NBA at 22, it will have to be with Memphis and he will have to sign for that rookie 3 year deal. memphis should definitely flip the 2nd pick for the best package possible (whether its for a team to get thabeet or rubio) I definitely think Memphis should target Hill, although I haven’t given up on arthur just yet
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/06/2009 - 6:51pm #157879
QHaynes123True and mad bad, didnt really look into it. Why take a guy who doesnt wanna be there ya know, this young nucleus of guys need to be supporters of each other. If that means you take Hill, you take him.
What if he signs and holds out?
