KingslayerParticipantBut what about illegal defenses? In the current NBA, teams overload the strongside of the court in a pseudo-zone defense to cut off driving lanes and the PnR. This defensive style utilized by every team all game long would be called for illegal defense in the 80’s and 90’s, when zone defense wasn’t allowed.
Sure MJ got hand-checked, but he also had tons of space to work with on the court with 4 defensive players unable to provide adequate help defense. I love Mike but I’d argue that it is just as difficult to be a high volume scorer nowadays.

Robb_CParticipantB.S, go look at Jordans Historical Shot selection.. He always was in the mid range (before the help defense could commit) help defense can only commit so much to one player without getting burned.

Memphis MadnessParticipantYep. He ALSO averaged 37 in another year.
How much would MJ score? Well, how much would Steph Curry score? Or, Russell Westbrook if they got all the minutes they wanted AND if they were gunning for the scoring title.
I think ALL THREE would average 35 plus a night.
I would give the edge to Steph Curry because 3 is STILL worth more than 2.

JoeWolf1Jordan dropped 61 in a playoff game against the Celts without attempting a 3! A prime Wade was probably the closest thing we’ve seen to Jordan’s pre 95-96 playing style in the modern era, but Jordan was on a clear level ahead of D-Wade.

Hype MachineJordans still the Goat by a wide margin.
Would average 35 on a bad team today and 28-32 on a great team.
He also juiced.

Hype MachineIts just my opinion, it’s not a statement of fact.
Most will disagree, or at least give him the benefit of the doubt. I have no problem with that, as I’ve already viewed other peoples opinions on the topic of steroids in basketball.
