kobyzParticipantwith this team there is one glowering weakness that will prevent them to succeed big time, but defensive center with presence, mobility and shot blocking ability could hide it and to help consummate the best out of this team. cause Minnesota have a very good offensive club, i’m very high on Michael Beasley as a player, with his mind set i think he could become a better, stronger version of Rudy Gay, i think he should be re-sign cause he can be a go to guy type player at the SF position… of course they have Kevin love filling the PF position, great rebounder, on offense great p&r player and flow of the game scorer… so with that said to me it’s make Derrick Williams expendable!!
maybe Drummond could become that type player they need and maybe it will be great situation for him to succeed when he will not have to worry much for his offense and being top guy, so if Drummond fall to #7 i think Minnesota should make an offer for Golden State of: Derrick Williams + #18 for #7 + #30(draft SG)!!!

SpacegrassParticipantSolid idea , Minny could trade either Beasley or Williams. I think Beasley is the best guy to trade considering he is coming off a 19ppg season recently and you might be able to deal him to GSW straight up for Drummond.

Allen_Iverson_3ParticipantConsidering the troubles Beasley can cause due to his mental issues, him for #7 will never happen.

TRC1991ParticipantThey were 23rd in FG% and 27th in 3PT %
They need shooting too

ChewyParticipantNikola Pekovic played very well for them in his first yr with the team. I think he is a solid C to pair w/ Love at the 4. He reminds me of Gortat, in that he doesn’t wow me with athleticism or flair… he just goes out fights and gets the job done like a blue color center should.
I don’t see why they need to rush to get a C. Like everyone has already said: they have a galring hole at the 2.

GoJOSH HUESTISParticipantAgreed they have a solid center there who plays much harder than Drummond (who got destroyed according to SI by T.Robinson in their first one on one workout). Also it’s been said he hasn’t had any real good workouts-ESPN insider

NbanflguyParticipantPekovic is actually a beast.
He was limited by injuries a majority of the year and was only able to play 27 mpg, but in those minutes he averaged 14 points and 7 boards on 56% shooting. Those numbers would be even higher if not for earlier in the season where he came off the bench and games where he tried to play, but had to leave minutes into the game because of his bad ankle. He also gets to the charity stripe a lot and makes his free throws at a 75% clip.
Dude is possibly the strongest player in the nba and is just a monster.

seniokasParticipantDoron Lamb maybe an answer. I feel he is a tad underated, he can shoot very well, handle the ball, defend, has shown ability to step up when needed most and isn’t very undersized as many think, he measured at 6’4.75 in shoes and 6’6.75 wingspan which is very decent for a supposed-to-be a combo guard.
Although, 18 would be a bit of a reach. Also, there is a possibility, that Terrence Ross will be available, which would be a no-brainer for Timberwolwes.
Overall, their need is very clear – wingman who can shoot and there definetely will be players that suit this need, maybe even trading a bit down can be an option.
