terrancebowerParticipantI feel like if Milwaukee lands a top 3 pick they’re going to be in a tough spot because of the make-up of their current team, especially the front court. I think Sanders and Ilyasova are going to be very difficult to move (fat checks and low stock), while Henson and Giannis could be moved but they’re both gems and that would really hurt.
I feel like ideally they would want Embiid to be able to play all 3 of them together (Giannis, Henson, Embiid), but then you’ve got a pretty expensive back up front court costing you over 20 mil a year, and we know how Milwaukee feels about losing money (they were reluctant to tank despite having a low chance of making the playoffs and a strong draft). They could ship out Giannis to make room for Parker or Wiggins but that would be a big blow to them, because a lot of people see him as a future star (I would hate to see that).
Would it make sense for them to trade down (maybe if Philly slips to 4 or 5, trade for that and their 11th/12th pick? Then they could take someone who fits better (Exum?) and not have to feel pressured into taking one of the top rated guys, plus they wind up with another pick. Would Philly even do this?
I’m just kinda throwing out ideas, what do you guys think Milwaukee should do?

Memphis MadnessParticipantI would go with Wiggins and play him at the 2. You almost have to gamble that Wiggins and Greek Freak can figure it out. Keep Henson. Larry Sanders at 5 would still work. Illasyova as the sixth man. Keep D.J. Stephens. Brandon Knight/Nate Wolters are ok. Try to move OJ Mayo.

Lotto StudParticipantI concur! Orange Juice Mayonnaise is a lost cause now, it really took for him to go to his 3rd team for me to give up on him. Wiggins at the 2 seems more ideal if Giannis is expected to be their future star player.

MopgrassParticipantIf Wiggins can play the 2, he should be a 2. That’s where he would be of the most value.
Defensively, SG Wiggins SF Giannis PF Henson makes some great defensive and height advantages.

Moon RiverParticipantI think it is a good problem for them to have, but the pressure is on Hammond to make the right choice. I don’t think any team trades out of the top 5 in this years draft.

Hector_Reyes_8ParticipantMilwaukee is in a tough spot because the Top 3 of this draft are frontcourt, and the Bucks have decent frontcourt players that are young and improving…

theprophetParticipantif i were the bucks and got the top pick, i target embiid and maybe paker. (another wing isn’t the worst thing in the world, especially one with the iq of parker) if i’m the bucks and say have the 3rd pick and embiid and parker are taken, i trade down a pick or 2 and target exum. i think exum is not only a good fit for milwaukee, but he might stick around for years to come. somehow i don’t believe wiggins would stay in milwaukee and i doubt marcus mart would. (not that he would be a great fit anyways) no matter what they do though, it’s going to take a few years.

fito91ParticipantI’ve heard that Ersan wants out of Milwaukee, so it would be really nice if the Bucks could find a way to accommodate him. It’ll be tough though. I like Embiid a lot, but the Bucks have such a log jam in the front court. I understand that we’re in need of a low post scorer, but we haven’t had any consistent scoring from our wing players this year either. If I were Hammond I’d be looking to draft Wiggins or Parker. I feel like pairing either of those guys with Giannis on the wing gives us two potential All-stars to build around. I also still believe Sanders can be good if he’s surrounded by the right players.
Trading Giannis is not an option. If he got traded, what’s left of our fan base would riot. Giannis is the only reason fans have to buy a ticket and sit in that decrepit arena.
I really don’t see too many options for us right now. Once again we’ve doomed ourselves with questionable multi-year deals to players like Mayo, Delfino, Ersan, and Zaza (not a bad player, but don’t see how he fits with this team), none of which have earned their money.
We’re not going to be competitive for at least a few years, so it might not be a bad idea to just bite the bullet and roll with what we have for the most part. I don’t see many teams showing interest in guys like Ersan or Mayo. We just have to hope Mayo gets his act together and shows up to camp in shape and ready to play. If Delfino actually plays next year, we could possibly move him at the deadline.
Yep! Going to be an interesting offseason as always!
It wasn’t always hell being a Bucks fan, remember these days?

Memphis MadnessParticipantI would try to trade OJ Mayo to the Sixers for Jason Richardson and picks at 39 and 48.
The Bucks would save $2 million and J Rich has one fewer year on his deal.
The Bucks would then have picks at 31, 39, 48, and 50 to either move up in the draft or to use in a trade.
They could even go after that Frank Kaminsky guy with one of those second rounders. He would give them a state hero and maybe even a core guy for the future.

Rip255They are in a tough spot and I feel sorry for Bucks Fans. Such a poorly constructed roster that wasn’t designed to tank. Now that they stink, it’s hard to blow up and give the keys to Giannis and an incoming rookie star.
I think their 2 least unattractive assets to trade are Mayo and Ersan, who have 2 years left on their deals at 8m each. They’re not good contracts, but they’re not horrible so might generate some interest to free up playing time for Wiggins or Parker if they’re available.
Worse case scenario and they get the 4 or 5 pick, take Dante Exum and at least they’ve filled a hole at PG caused by the outgoing Ramon Sessions.

burgessfourParticipantWill not trade both 1’s to move from 4/5 & 11/12 to 1-3.
Will not trade J-Rich, 39 & 48 for O.J. Mayo.
Not happening.
No offense.

Rip255Agree that those trades aren’t happening but not convinced that teams in the top 5 won’t trade their picks amongst each other after the lottery takes place.
For example, if Orlando got the #5 pick through bad luck, they could trade that and their 12th pick to move up into the top 3 if there is a guy they’re really high on.
A team that needs a guard might do this, because as you mentioned earlier most of the top prospects are frontcourt players.
P.S. if the Lakers get the #1 pick, this league really is rigged.

King CaluchaParticipantImagine this group of players: Sanders, Ersan/Henson, Giannis, rookie (say Wiggins) and Knight. I wonder if they could ever give Giannis the keys for running the offense with a lineup like this. I’d give it a shot during preseason.

IhateusernamesParticipantI was fighting til the end with O.J. Mayo as well. Really disappointed in him since the 1st half of last year. I think the Bucks need to keep every asset they have, until teams come begging for them.
Absolutely you take Jabari/Wiggins and let them figure it out with Giannis. Then when a team comes begging for Giannis, you say " you gotta take Elyasova as well".

kobyzParticipantIf Milwaukee land J Park they would have the brightest futur they could ever dream of… J Park would give them a franchise player, an ultimate cornerstone who fit perfectly along their corrent young bunch: Knight, Midelton, Greek Freek, Henson, Sanders, and i also like Zaza Phazulia who give stability, experience, leadership to the C position…

IndianaBasketballParticipantI don’t think they’re in a tough spot at all. They need to take whoever they have at the top of their draft board.
