( This is all speculations and opinions | I’m not a fan of either team )

I’ve watched Bill Simmons and Jalen Rose season preview show. Bill speculated that he believes that the Milwaukee Bucks will be heading to Seattle. I have to admit that he made some good points and it seems like when he speculate stuff it seems to come true.

Bill Simmons said if the Bucks have until May of 2015 to have a location of a arena and need the Arena built by October 1st 2017. As of now they don’t have a location and they don’t have the funding for an location. Also, the people of Milwaukee won’t help fund for an arena. So, Bill Simmons said that of the stadium don’t get built the NBA could buy the team back for $540 million and sell the team for $1.6 billion to the Seattle investors.

This move make since by Milwaukee moving to Seattle. Seattle is the 14th biggest media market and Milwaukee is the 32nd ( according to stationindex.com ). Milwaukee was last in the league in attendance while Seattle is well known to have a fantastic fan base. The crowd will be amazing ( think about Golden State and Oklahoma City ). And Seattle is probably the best sports city in America.

And to those asking what about the divisions and who will you replace a team from the west with? It’s really easy, move Seattle to the Northwest and Minnesota to the Central. But I will like to have Memphis in the east and put them in the central and move Minnesota to the southwest.

Adam Silver said he’s not thinking about " expansion " until  the league basically  "clean up". I believe that means every team should have new arenas, practice facilities, and the NBA have its new TV deal. Milwaukee don’t have that and it looks like it maybe not going to happen.

It makes sence and it’s the right move to make. If they move to Seattle they will have two stars ( if they live up to potential ) in Jabari Parker and Giannis Antetokounmpo,  a good young head coach, and a future top 5 pick ( you assume next year’s draft ). This will be a win for the NBA and if they look to expand they can look to bring back a team to Milwaukee  with the likes of Louisville, Kansas City, Las Vegas, and another team in Canada.

    Thoughts. …….

i hate to see cities lose thier teams, but one way or another, seattle deserves a team. They actually put together a phenomanal deal for the kings including a new arena, even better then sacramento delivered. Im glad the kings stayed in sac, but assuming the city of seattle can put together a similar deal to bring a team home as they did then, i see no reason it shouldnt happen. Hell, just expand.

I’ve heard rumblings of this for a while now but I’m not getting my hopes up. I’d hate to see Milwaukee lose their team and I don’t wish it upon any city to see their team leave even if it does make sense financially for the NBA. I think expansion is the answer but only after another prospective city gets a deal as big as Seattle’s bid ready and then the league could introduce 2 new teams.

    It’s not going to happen.

    1. I’m fairly certain that the owners already have a location.  They’re just waiting until elections are over to make it official.

    2. Literally everybody in Milwaukee expects them to get their funding from the public.  Once the elections are over with, the owners can begin doing all those political things to get the funding and it will get done.

    3. The ownership group has a net worth of over $7 billion.  They aren’t about to let $200 million stand in the way of them living the dream of owning a team and making tons of money in the process.

I will be extremely shocked if the Bucks end up going anywhere.

Just get two new expansion teams.  The TV deal is big enough, then the other 30 teams get some of the expansion money.

Put one in Seattle with Vegas, Kansas City, San Jose, and other cities fighting over the other expansion team.

You can move New Orleans and Memphis to the Southeast division.

The Bucks new owners certainly have the funds amd Herb Kohl pledged $200 million to the new Arena project.

There is one point which jumps out at me from Casey’s original posting. The team could be sold to a Seattle consortium for over $1.5 billion. I wonder if the Milwaukee ownership could be tempted to virtually triple their money in a short space of time and sell out to a Seattle group. I’m not saying they have an ulterior motive or even have considered this, I’m just looking at it from a hard fast monetary view.

Also the value of the franchise will grow if Jabari and Greek Freak turn out to be what their potential indicates, this will bring the crowds in, generate merch sales etc and increase the franchise’s value. This could be great for Milwaukee but also very tempting if a big offer dis come in from Seattle.

Personally I hope the Bucks remain in Milwaukee but I also feel Seattle needs a team.

The Bucks owners wouldn’t be selling to the Seattle group.  They would be selling to the NBA for approximately a $50 million profit (which would then be split like 20 ways, so each person would end up getting like $2.5 million), and then the NBA could possibly sell to the Seattle group.  I believe a part of the contract to sell the team to Lasry and Edens is that they couldn’t sell the team to the Seattle group.
