SkalAndJamalParticipantI don’t know why Phil hasn’t called this guy! All he’s asking for is 3 million. He’s literally perfect for the triangle and a guy who would compliment Carmelo. He’s a sniper, knows how to run a team, great passer, defends and plays super hard, can play the 2, and he’s a big PG. Kinda like Ron Harper in a way. If I was NYK, I sign Milos, develop assests, be ready to make an offer to Philly when they decide they can’t play Noel and Okafor together, and try to trade for Noel. Keep Porzingis and whatever developments he can make, you take.
Milos is 28 and Grant is 22, so by the time Grant reaches his prime, Milos is at the tail-end of his career. They switch roles in the rotation, but it’s great cause they can play together on the floor cause of Milos’ versatility.
Line-up like this
C| Nerlens Noel/Robin Lopez
F| Derrick Williams/Kristaps Porzingis
F| Carmelo
G| Arron Afflalo
G| Milos Teodosic/Jerian Grant
this team would make noise in the east.

SmokedoutParticipantYe like sixers trade their best young player for more picks.. not gonna happen but i do think teodosic could be a good starter in nba for team like knicks

SkalAndJamalParticipantThey just did that last year. In fact you could also argue they traded away their top 2 young guys.

herceg_bukuParticipantTeodosic is much like Calderon, but Teodosic is a better shooter though. He should be in the NBA by all rights he has proven it overseas time and time over again.

GBeeParticipantTeodosic is a crap defender.
0- Posted on: Sun, 09/20/2015 - 5:28am #1014322
SkalAndJamalParticipantlol cause he doesn’t get steals doesn’t mean He’s a bad defender. He’s tenacious and he gets after it.
0- Posted on: Sun, 09/20/2015 - 5:42am #1014326
GBeeParticipantDid I even mention steals? He is a crap defender and has been his entire career so I’m assuming you don’t know much about him and are just talking out of your ass. He’s slow, weak and unlike Calderon doesn’t even play fundamentally sound defense, gambling with his flops and giving up early on plays.
0- Posted on: Sun, 09/20/2015 - 10:25am #1014348
SkalAndJamalParticipantso you are going to talk about how I dont know much about Milos but then right away you say Calderon plays fundamentally sound defense. That’s pretty amazing LOL.
0- Posted on: Sun, 09/20/2015 - 11:29am #1014368
GBeeParticipantYeah because he does. His issues defensively are because he’s lacking in the athletic department, but if you watch him play he sits down, gives space, stays solid, doesn’t gamble, does what he can to stay in front. He’s even a really good communicator on D, always talking. He just cannot stay in front of quick guards and gets physically overpowered vs big guards. Now take his weaknesses defensively and put them on a gambler and flopper who quits on plays and sticks to screens. You’d get what Teodosic is defensively. And yet he could reprise the Ron Harper role? Get a clue.
0- Posted on: Sun, 09/20/2015 - 1:24pm #1014378
SkalAndJamalParticipantLOL this is great. So why is Calderon such an awful defender but a guy with the same physical attributes, like an Eric Snow, was a great one? I cant wait to hear what BS you got next.
0- Posted on: Sun, 09/20/2015 - 1:55pm #1014384
GBeeParticipantWTF? You’re honestly gonna compare Eric Snow’s physical profile to Calderon’s. Eric Snow was quick laterally and in his earlier days was one of the fastest end to end players, so he had that recovery speed required for PG defenders. Later in his career he was one of the stronger PGs in the league as well. Quit while you’re behind. Your lack of knowledge is showing.
"Tenacious… plays hard on defense… really gets after it defensively…" Really? Teodosic? That’s all I need to know about your knowledge of the player so I don’t need to further read or respond to any of your posts on this topic.
Later.

oogellsParticipantTenacious and gets after it AKA he can’t move side to side at all. Even Eastern Conference starting pgs would eat him alive. Solid bench contributer if he ever wanted to come over but to expect more then that is just silly.
0- Posted on: Sun, 09/20/2015 - 10:28am #1014350
SkalAndJamalParticipantOh yeah cause Tony Parker really ate him when they matched up and TP went 3/12 GTFO.
0- Posted on: Sun, 09/20/2015 - 11:18am #1014364
oogellsParticipantTony Parker was rubbish all tournament, once again did you even watch the games? Like, it was actually a story that he was so bad repeatedly. And yes we were talking about defense, but i do believe Teodosic went 0-10 in that game. Also, I was more talking about him being able to deal with athletes, not crafy old vets, as i thought my trashing his athleticism implied.
0- Posted on: Sun, 09/20/2015 - 1:11pm #1014376
SkalAndJamalParticipantYou have a point with the quick guards. However, there’s not that many good defensive PGs in the NBA anyways. I don’t know why not Milos can’t do what Lillard is doing, every move Lillard has made other than the acrobatic finishes he makes, I’ve seen Milos do. You could argue Milos is more crafty though.

1. Did I say Tony Parker was having a terrific tournament? No. Did I still give examples of Milos playing other NBA players that he torched? yup.
2. Parker actually had 4 games shooting over 40%…
3. I cant believe I actually spent the time replying to the most idiotic post ever.

0 - Posted on: Sun, 09/20/2015 - 5:04am #1014316
GBeeParticipantNo way. Teodosic should stay overseas and remain a star. He’d get absolutely ran through defensively in the NBA and he wouldn’t be able to dominate the ball the way he wants to in the triangle either, which is not a very PnR heavy system. He’d just be a guy in the NBA and I don’t think his ego would be able to handle that. Given how temperamental he is I could see him flaming out.
I’d rather give Nando de Colo another shot. I thought he got a raw deal last time he was in the NBA. He’s a better defender and with his less ball-dominant style I think he’d be a better fit for the triangle.
0- Posted on: Sun, 09/20/2015 - 10:35am #1014354
SkalAndJamalParticipant? He is more than capable of playing off the ball, maybe it’s you who hasnt watched him play.
0- Posted on: Sun, 09/20/2015 - 11:33am #1014370
GBeeParticipantHe is very ball-dominant and a very PnR heavy guard, one of the most PnR heavy guards overseas. He can single handedly kill the momentum of an offense with his ball pounding and he needs screens to get to wherever he needs to go because he lacks blow by and breakdown ability.
Now quit talking out of your ass about players you know very little of.
0- Posted on: Sun, 09/20/2015 - 1:00pm #1014372

0- Posted on: Sun, 09/20/2015 - 11:24am #1014366
oogellsParticipantI don’t think anyone is saying he can’t play in the nba. Could be the first guard off the bench easy. You just had him being a starting point guard in the league which just doesn’t make any sense for the type of player he is.
0- Posted on: Sun, 09/20/2015 - 1:02pm #1014374
SkalAndJamalParticipantThe type of player who is a big 6’5 PG who can shoot and pass with any other guard in the world? Who plays hard coming off off-ball picks and finds his way into lanes with ease, plays hard on defense and tries to be as active as he can? Oh and was only the Euroleague MVP.
0- Posted on: Sun, 09/20/2015 - 1:41pm #1014380
oogellsParticipantYes, that is a player I want on the bench, and not starting. I agree with everything you said, maybe you made him sound 10-20% better then I think he is, but I can’t argue with that. What I can argue with is if you are not going to be a good defender at the point guard position, you better be elite at creating offense for yourself and/or others, like the player you compared him to before in Lillard. No nba team would give him the starting pg job right off the bat, he would have to prove himself, much like any other rookie, ever. You can get away with starting nba unknowns at every position but point guard, no coach in his right mind would be that risky. It’s just not possible, move on.
0- Posted on: Sun, 09/20/2015 - 2:31pm #1014530
SkalAndJamalParticipantHe definitely has the tools to prove himself and for 3 mill that’s not that much, he was a Euroleague MVP. NBA teams start rookies right away… "Not possible" seems a little bit extreme.

oogellsParticipantBut if you remember Jason Terry only started cause Patrick Beverly got hurt. Not saying he couldn’t do the job if given it. I just see there being about a .001% chance a coach gives him a starting pg spot without him playing in the NBA. Hasn’t happened with a vet euro since probably Toni Kukoc and Arvydas Sabonis, and even tho I can’t be 100% both started on day 1. Also as stated previously easier for a non point guard to start early.

He would definitely start in a lot of NBA teams. Defensively he would struggle containing the most athletic guys. It’s really difficult for me not to like such a smart player.
