Henry25ParticipantSo as I was watching the Lakers-Heat game last night, a very interesting stat caught my attention. Mike Beasley has not seen the floor during the 4th quarter for the last 3 games for the Heat. Words cannot describe how angry I am by that stat. WHAT ARE THE HEAT DOING??? Beasley has so much skill and potential and the Heat are wasting it. I was really hoping that Beasley was going to get traded during the deadline, because he will never reach his full potential playing in Miami. He is one of the most talented players in the NBA and needs on court experience during clutch time situations. So far the Heat have done an absolutely awful job in helping Beasley develop into the player we all know he can be. Thoughts anyone???

Henry25Participanti couldn’t agree more. PHX would be a great fit for him. Or any young team in need of a scoring combo forward. Miami is wasting his talent!!

SwatLakeCityParticipantEither that or he is not living up to his potential. I was hoping he would really improve in his second year but I guess not.

quinceyhodgeshes actually improved this year but for some reason the coach wont do the sink or swim approach that other coachs have done with there talented sophs. is defense isnt the best but i have seen worst from som of the other second year players and they continue to get better with more time. they will end up wishing they had played him more by the time his rookie deal starts to run out

llperezi don’t think he is that good and the heat were just trying to win a tough game last night so they sat him. What did he do all night? He had one nice dunk on a put back over gasol, then he stared over pau and screamed, like the announcers said, shouldn’t the number 2 pick act like he is supposed to make a play like that?
I have not been impressed with beasley since he entered the league. His stats will be better then what he actually contributes to the game similar to Glenn RObinsons career. He doesn’t do anything offensively that blows you away. As a pf, he doesn’t post up or get as phtsical as you would like. As sf, his shooting is only average and he doesn not have great speed or ball handling. He can’t really defend at either position and he doesn’t seem to makes his teammates better. Hes not that great an athlete, ive seen guys catch up to him and pass him on the break many times.
The guy has an amazing combination of skills and is an offensive weapon for sure, but the heat screwed up drafting him second.

IndianaBasketballParticipantThe coach doesn’t trust Beasley in the 4th quarter. He’s the definition of a tweener and struggles on D.
I think Beasley does need a change of scenery. A lot of people forget that he’s still very young. He hasn’t gotten to play through his mistakes like a lot of other rookies from his class or this current one. Some guys can get away with poor defense and mental mistakes because their team is garbage and are usually getting blown out anyway.
Beasley just needs to stay confident and keep improving. That’ll be the key because the talent is there.

BasterdInABasketParticipantThey got the win against the champs. I really thought he was gonna be a stud in the nba but i cant stand watching him play now. He always looks so unenthused and only looks to get his shots and saying that hes terrible at defense is understatement. Right now Ill take haslem when the game matters over beasley. Plus haslem did knock down two big jumpers in OT to help seal the win
