valentineHe just checked into Rehab, on his now delted twitter account he was talking about he should end his life.
I fear for this man, he’s a amazing talent who can be a superstar in the NBA. I think going into this rehab and getting it all under control can help him for the better.
thoughts?

torontoraptors10ParticipantThat’s crazy man. Seriously, Beasley is a great talent and hopefully he gets his mind straight. What reason does he have to end his life? I heard about his twitter photos that showed his back and had possible bag of weed on the floor. If that true, he needs to get his life in order and realize that he has a professional job and stop acting like a teenager.

doubledribblerParticipantI think coming into the league he had a lot of maturity concerns. I think if there is ever a right time to try to work on any problems he has, it’s now. He’s still young and it’s better to catch and stop a problem while it’s early. Hopefully he makes it and is still able to reach his potential.
From a basketball perspective, I think this means that Miami won’t be able to trade him. Not this year at least. Everyone will be watching this year to see what happens.

BasketballGuru24ParticipantThat doesn’t sound beasley like but yea researched it too. Well it seems like he is getting some help, good that he actually got it. God knows what it would been like if it escalated worse.
Now just too make things worse in Miami……they are having a horrible off-season in which d-wade threaten to live. Now this happens to their rising star and the swingman of the team.

JoeWolf1We all know how depression affected Vince Young’s career, It looks like he is on the right track after getting help, and i look forward to seeing him back on the football field this season. Beasley is a special offensive talent, and I hope he can turn things around and get back on the court this November.

Chicago1980ParticipantI guess money and fame aint all its cracked up to be at least he is getting some help.

IndianaBasketballParticipantI’m not a huge Beasley basketball fan, but I’m praying for him. Whatever he’s going through, I hope he gets the help he needs and gets his life on the right track. That’s the main thing… Getting his life on track. Ball comes second.

thetruthParticipantIs Gonna through a faze wait now. im not gonna lie. i have been in his shoes before you get sad and depress . and you feel all alone and you just wanna end your life. i been through it and i am still today. i just try to pray to god and ask him to heal me from my demons . and to mr beasley keep holding and ask god to heal your body and mind. and try to be around posistive people and focus on basketball and everything will be alright. you can have all the money in the world until not be happy.

xbadgerhustlerParticipantdefinitely needs to be around the right ppl~ ppl that care about him…
god is inside you, folks. Beas just needs to find some meaning in life, and find ways that he can make other people’s lives better (and not just starting a charity and throwing money at it). as a basketball player, he has the amazing opportunity to change ppls lives without doing much more than taking the time to talk to ppl.

kong47272ParticipantI think this ends any shot he had at becoming a star in the league, I think he will be back in a year or two but this will stunt his growth considerably. Obviously we don’t know the details, but things like this rarely go well for athletes careers.
I see him back in the league, but as a role player, 6th man type guy.

JNixonParticipantIts weird he’s going through depression, he’s always seemed like a happy-go-lucky guy on the court. I remember the 1st game he played at Kstate when he was singing the fight song and playing at the same time. lol. I always knew he would get a bunch of tattoos and smoke alot when he got in the NBA, but the depression thing is weird.

xbadgerhustlerParticipanthe’s trying to put on the appearance that everything is all happy-go-lucky to cover up the fact that everything is not…

Toronto16ParticipantWow… Poor guy… It shows you that money and fame can’t give you all the happiness in this world
0 - Posted on: Mon, 08/24/2009 - 12:07pm #205186

llperezthis is surprising. If he is honestly talking about taking his life, people need to take that stuff seriously, and help him. As far as checking into rehab, I wonder if it is just weed or something more.

R-Dot-13Participantwow, such a great talent too, i really hope he gets back on track.

butidonthavemoneyUtah doesn’t want him anymore. You know Sloan doesn’t put up with that stoner ship.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 08/24/2009 - 5:27pm #205298

tuck243ParticipantFirst off Mike got a lot of things going on and its NOT being depressed enough to kill himself… So get that out your head. In fact he chose to go there because Riley told him to, he’s been smoking weed like crazy. But I know why he’s been on it like that. And TRUST ME I WOULD TOO…
Now the Vince Young thing people are misinformed. And don’t understand life in general to know what they’re going thru and its not they’re going nuts its just LIFE. Vince been the Number 1 guy all his life from grade school to college to the NFL. He even won the rookie of the year. Now within a couple of weeks you play bad, get booed, AND lose your job. I feel like WE all would be a little depressed at the situation. If you saw the ESPN interview you would know the real situation about the gun and things of that nature so I’m not even going to go into that. Now, his FATHER FIGURE, his MENTOR, his BEST FRIEND died. That in itself deserves some type of depression. Being depressed from time to time isn’t a bad thing.. We ALL go thru it because its just life…
Don’t look at these guys like they’re going crazy. They’re just going thru life situations that we all go thru, its just they’re famous. Just look at as a guy going thru a tough time and pray for him just like I will be praying for all of you tonight….
GOD SPEED!!!!!!!!!!!

quincey hodgesyes this is sad and hopefully he will get the right help and bounce back but as far as what kong47272 said about this ending anyshot of him being a star i totally disagree. hes too talented to not be a star if he gets the help he needs and focuses. sports is full of guys who have bounced back one of which i can recall recently is josh hamilton( i think thats his name) that plays baseball who went as low as you can go then came back to be a star
0 - Posted on: Tue, 08/25/2009 - 3:04pm #205846
quincey hodgesits actually more common then most people think. no excuse though when you getting paid all that money to play ball and no mess up if you dont have mental problems/issues. i think john lucas will get him on the right track. If anyone can he can
