I used to follow HS basketball a bit, now I dont have the time other than random youtube vids, a recent article from this website on the top 10 HS prospect got me asking myself who the next star could be. I started checking out the highlights of all this players and then some, and came away with my –possible-failure evalutation– as the conclusion:

Porter is (Rudy Gay/KD– lanky) 6’9 ft,  after lifting his arms up, hands must be a couple inches away from the rim, adding to that, a vert that has him forehead at the rim level efforlessly, so much that you would think is Lavine taking off. Also, frame to get bigger.

He plays SF and he’s gonna keep growing. Looks extremly fluid with the ball, you can tell he has actual perimeter game as opposed to a lot of these kids getting by based on athleticsim. His body control, and balance when attacking the rim for someone that lanky is like reminiscent of Antokounmpo, quickness.

The fact that he seems to be a dead-eye shooter puts him at the top of my list. From videos seen, jumper looks like you can’t give him any space or he’ll pull up. It looks like money. While shooting off the dribble his elevation, balance, and feet follow through is almost flawless.

I went back and forth with the final decisition, but I think if you looks years ahead, Michael Porter has the most potential. I suggest you go check his most recent highlights you don’t know about him.

He gets NBA style buckets. He plays so low and all of a sudden transform into 6’9.

As little sense as this possibly makes, he reminds me of Zack Lavine and Giannis Antetokounmpo, that’s why I refered to them above.

Nah it’s Ayton and Bagley in either order.  Ayton has the potential to control the paint on both ends. He has it all, from tools, intangibles, to learning curve.  Bagley’s in the same boat.  Imagine if Beasley had a brain, had better size and cared about defense.  That’s what I think Bagley could be, and he might not even be done growing.

I’d like to see Porter diversify his offense a little more. His handle isn’t that great, neither is quickness, but he is rangy.  I think he settles for jumpers a lot because his slashing game isn’t as effective.

Rudy Gay’s a good comparison, but Porter’s more advanced at the same stage in terms of shooting.

How quick can you be when you’re that tall and that young? He is a sophmore in High School, I dont see any other player of his height and age more that quick.

He might slettle for jumpers alot, but ipowers stated that 2 years  ago he was mainly a shooter and isrecently introducing the slashing game, which for his height he will evetually be a mismatch at any point including the NBA. His slashing potential is great.

I think when were talking about High School prospect with that much age separation and ambiguity there is no "Nah it’s Ayton and Bagley in that order." You can pretty much think whatever you want as long as the potential is there.

Have you seen Jonathan Isaac? I think his physical talent is comparable. He’s 2016, but Porter’s older for his class.

I also think Bagley has better blow-by ability and he’s younger and bigger.

Slashing is more than quickness.  Players have to show an affiinity for it.  Tall, lanky players can be hindered by a high center of gravity, lack of ball control, lack of strength to maintain a gained advantage, etc.  You can’t just look at a player and assume his potential for slashing is great because he’s tall and lanky.

Yeah, I can think whatever I want and what I think is that Ayton and Bagley are the 2 best prospects in HS.

Harry Giles is a freak, like a Shawn Kemp meets Tristan Thompson.

     Nope. Nah. Uh-uh.

DeAndre Ayton is the holy father, the holy son and holy spirit when it comes to this basketball ish.

I already think he’ll go down as the best HS prospect of the decade. That guy is Anthony Davis in a bigger body yet just as quick and athletic and shows shades of David Robinson. He’s the youngest I’ve seen people unanimously call the best HS player since LeBron in 2001 and has a dominating personality like Shaquille O’Neal and Chris Paul.

I think Porter and Jay Tatum are the next wing stars.. Guards would be Dennis Smith and Giles is a Chris Webber clone..
