CavFanPRParticipantMichael Jordan had an amazing work ethic throughout his career and he isn’t 7-feet tall.

xJumpManxParticipantJordan didnt have the stress fracture in his back in college and didnt have the foot injury while working out it was in the third game of the season. 7 footers put more stress on their feet than guards do. Yao Ming Zydrunas Illguaskes had the same injury and it ended Yaos career and Z was never even close to being the same player he was before the injury.

ibe12ParticipantJordan was a 6’6 guard without a history of injuries. Embiid is a bigger man whose been hurt twice in the last 6 months in only one year of playing college ball.

butidonthavemoneyYou know who else had a foot injury? That’s right. Hitler.
You draft Embiid, you risk some major genocide.

SpacegrassParticipantIt was also Jordans 2nd season he broke his foot after averaging 28.2ppg 6.5rpg 5.9apg 2.4spg while shooting 52% his rookie year. Jordan was already a proven pro. Embiid not so much.

Pistol Pete. The PelicanParticipantSomeone mentioned Yao and Big Z, but let’s not forget this is the same injury that robbed Bill Walton of his prime.

IndianaBasketballParticipantFor them to rush right into surgery means that he has a displaced fracture, which are the worst kind to have. Usually with a non-displaced fracture, surgery isn’t really needed. Not only does he probably have the worst fracture you can have, he has it in the worst bone to have it in…
Injuring the Navicular bone is a killer. It’s all about how he heals now and if he has any setbacks… Really it just depends on how bad that fracture was and if it’s injured any other parts of the foot.
He’s VERY questionable… I could see him sliding big time because he already looks injury prone and the type of foot injury he has could potentially give him problems his entire NBA career. Whatever team that drafts him will have to be very patient with him. He could be out anywhere from 4-6 months and that’s just depending on how the fracture heals. Smdh.

PurpleMonkeyDishwasherParticipantBill Walton was too many years ago for an adequate comparison. Throw in the fact that he was a vegetarian and it explains wuite a bit the problems he has had in his life.
