Rookie of the Year to kicking around the margins for the minimum.  How did he end up being the PG Jahlik Okafor?  Seriously, for people that have seen a lot of his play, what happened?

Simple, he was never that good. Hated his game even during his rookie year and I’m a Sixers fan. He’s a volume guy and volume stats win ROY but he’s super low efficiency. Was so happy when Hinkie traded him .

+100 to you for that Endlessknight.

I remember when he got traded and the media was bashing the 76ers. All I thought was they must only look at the totals while completely ignoring the box score and watching his game. MCW shot a horrible percentage and had a poor assist to turnover ratio. He was a good rebounder and solid enough defender. In the clutch he was horrible, the amount of times he’d simply dribble the ball off his own foot was maddening. Hinkie sold high and was absolutely right to do it.

First thought was that Houston thought they might as well see if he can be their version of Shaun Livingston

Not a Bad pickup. He gives them a playmaker off the bench, something they didn’t have last season. He brings length, defensive ability to guard 3 positions and he’s a solid rebounder for a guard. And most importantly he gives Morey another trade piece to use in a mid season trade.

Certainly not what you think of when he was ROY, but a good player. He rebounds, defends and passes very well. He just can’t shoot, like he makes Smart look good. So yea he’s no star, not even a starter, but every team can use a guy like him. He was my replacement for Smart if he got a big offer. He just needs a team that values D, rebounding and passing.

Funny he was so overrated for years, now he’s likely underrated.
