Michael Beasley has stepped up his game this year and is finally getting the ball more often and now the team doesn’t have to realing on D-Wade to much now. what do you guys think of beasley or B-EASY peformance over his last 7 games.

Mike Beasley is finally coming into his own and its at a perfect time. He has given Miami a significant 2nd weapon and jermaine o’neal has also stepped up to give Miami 3 legitimate players. But Mike is so smooth and talented it was a sure thing that his scoring abilities would develop, he’s 6’9” with an assortment of skills…he can be like a Josh Smith very very soon

NBA stars and prep stars play.

there was a good game 6-4 post up SG (Gilbert Brown) dropped 40?

Good for Beasley Im happy for him….IMO he has one of the best mid range jumpers in the NBA…in fact i would only put Kobe ahead of him…his 17-20 footer is so smotth

Not to shoot u down or nothin but he def does not have one of the best midranges in the whole NBA but if u mean one of the best for a 3/4/5 then yea its definitely a good point then.

A few people were calling him a bust the end of the season… I was sooooo upset because even Helen Keller can see how great of a player Mike is going to be… Miami didn’t utilize him in their offense last year and the beginning of this year… But it seems like they are starting to use him a little more… But the big problem I have is that they will go to J.O. or Q-Rich before Mike… When Mike is a better scoring than both of them combine… I’ve seen numerous times where Mike would be open for a corner jumper and they pass it back the other way… BUT when Haslem is on the floor they give him that shot… Mike it seems is getting haze or something because its no way there aren’t any set plays for him… But there are for two over-paid bums like J.O. and Q-Rich? Please…

barry farms..i used to live there.. yeh that tournament is no joke every year. ya’ll think the ruker tournament has talent then ya’ll need to come down there to berry farms. our team with david hawkins,me,lonnie harell,trouble smith, hugh jones(baby shaq) did work out there a couple years ago…..J.O over paid bum?..have you seen o’neal play this year?..or forgotten that he was hurt the past 2-3 years?..hes far from a over paid bum

it doesnt matter if any one believes me or not.you dont have to be someone special to play in that leauge. just grow up around there and be a good ball player and know someone or have someoneknow you…thats it. just like the rucker. theres some guys playing in that that are great players but they are pretty good and know someone. some arent good at all they just are friends of the celebs. although they dont play much unless theres a blow out

There is a sensational story unfolding in Atlanta right now, as the Hawks sit perched a top not only the Eastern Conference, but the entire NBA.

Most mind-boggling, is the relative similarity between last season’s roster and the players that make up the rotation currently. The only changes of credible note being the loss of Ronald Murray and the acquisitions of Jamal Crawford and Jeff Teague.

So why are these birds flying so high? Can the team’s improvement really be attributed to the recent playing of Joe Johnson?

Well, yes and no.

Johnson has indeed elevated his playing from the last two seasons (when the Hawks made the playoffs for the first time in nine years) from an average player to an above-average player. But, according to David Berri (professor of applied economics at SUU), the Hawks have seen their biggest improvement come from Josh Smith.

Using Berri’s complex mathematical formula , which measures the worth of a player by evaluating their wins produced per 48 minutes (WP48) and the estimated wins they will produce (WP) throughout the course of a regular season, one is able to see that Smith is a far more productive player than his teammate, Joe Johnson.

Actually, he’s been so efficient, he currently ranks as the second winningest player in the league, trailing only LeBron James (after 13 games). Not only that, but his WP48 and his estimated WP, would currently catapult him to the top of the list of the league’s most underpaid athletes.

But how has Josh Smith’s evolution into a phenomenally above-average player come about? The most telling factor has to be the growth and maturity of Smith.

He’s always had the tools necessary to win at this rate, but in the past, he never understood his role, and thus never played up to his abilities. That’s changed so far this season, allowing him to better utilize his strengths and to stray from his weaknesses.

For example, Smith has yet to take an errant three, which has vastly improved his shooting precision. He’s also handling the ball much better than in seasons past and using his body mechanics to rebound, block, and steal the ball more, in relation to last year.

So while Joe Johnson would undoubtedly get voted league MVP, were the team to finish the season with the best mark in the NBA, the team’s “true” MVP would veritably be Josh Smith.

In actuality, Joe Johnson ranks as only the third most productive player on that squad, the second being Al Horford. And had Josh Childress and team management reached an agreement on a new contract, Joe Johnson would most likely have been fourth (with the hypothetical return of Childress).

So, Atlanta congratulates you J-Smoove, on finally growing up.
