I don’t think any team can beat the Heat if they play the way they did yesterday. I’ve watched a game almost every night for the past 5 years and without a doubt that was the best defense I have seen in that time. Think about it, Wade scored 14 Bosh scored 13 and they still beat the Celtics by 20+ points

Miami was originally a defensive team. When they rely on that, its what beat the Lakers twice already. But you see the problem is when your bench doesn’t step up, its hard to be effective on both ends of the court I don’t care who you are. Yes, if Miami plays defense like that during the play offs they may turn heads. But if their bench dissapears again (80% possible) then they won’t be any better than they were the entire season. An average team at most. Still, you don’t get to be the 2nd seed in the East by luck. Its impressive for some guys that were thrown together in one season.

I want to see them go after DeAndre Jordan in the off season.  He could give them 12-13 points, 9-10 rebounds, and around 2 blocks a night.

If Udonis Haslem can come in and play they have a shot to get to the Finals.

I think the top 3 teams are the Lakers, Bulls, and Heat.  The second 3 are the Spurs, OKC, and the Celtics.

If the Heat shooters can get hot then they can win it all.

They need a legit big man. Their defensive effort, and everyone sniffing around for rebounds is whats keeping them from fading out. What ever the case, they will get their legit bigman.

      Kayjay,

I totally agree.  I think they should be looking at DeAndre Jordan.  Maybe Dalembert.  What do you think?

Not sure that they can get their long-term solution at center with their 32nd pick in the draft.  Their first priority is getting a good big man in free agency.  Then at 32 they should take a look at either a shooter (Diebler, Lighty, Ravern Johnson), or a quality, versatile forward like Jamie Skeen or maybe Parsons.  Or Kyle Singler if he falls.

Bosh, Haslem, Jordan, Dampier, Anthony would be a GREAT inside presence next year.  Skeen, if he could play some small forward would then be the home run pick at 32.  If Skeen, Parsons, and Lighty aren’t there then they might need to trade down and get two later second round picks and get two of these guys: Diebler, Ravern Johnson, Scotty Hopson, Jacob Pullen, Matt Howard, or whoever is left.

I think there are a couple of teams that can beat them even when they play the defense they played. It wasn’t any better than Boston’s defense when they play at there best or the Lakers or the Bulls

There’s almost no way they can afford Jordan. They only have the midlevel exception, if it still exists next year, and I’ll be willing to bet that he commands more than that in this offseason. He’s also good friends with Blake, and I don’t think the Clippers will be incompetent enough to let him walk (is he an RFA this offseason?) Dalembert’s a better choice just because he’s older and might be willing to take a paycut to be on a contender, but Deandre Jordan’s the better fit. He’s just not affordable.
