Yea with other teams in the West adding players and getting better they need to look to add as well. I think Green would be the most likely but Deng would be the better fit because of his defense.

I’d personally prefer Green to Deng, however, the trade machine gives Memphis +6 wins for Deng and +3 for Green. Either player would be a good get for the Grizzlies, as they could use Green’s athleticism and offensive versatility and Deng’s defense, smarts, and team-first mentality.

I don’t really see Pat Riley getting rid of Deng so soon, though.

Deng only signed a two year deal and I think year two is a player option so if Memphis did make an offer Pat Riley might consider it. I’d guess that Miami would want Koufos as part of any deal and maybe Tayshaun Prince to balance salaries out.

If Miami could resign Koufos they get a decent big so deal could work although I’d bet Riley might look for a pick or some other piece.

Any people who have watched his minutes this year have an NBA scouting report of him?

Makes a lot of sense for them to turn Tayshaun’s expiring contract+another asset into a legit starting 3. They’ve been running out TA and Courtney Lee who are 6’4 & 6’5. A 6’8+ guy with some defensive ability, athleticism, and catch & shoot ability from 3 would be a great fit for them. Deng is probably more the personality of that team, while Green is younger and more athletic & explosive offensively. Either would be a positive upgrade for Memphis, as would a guy like Wilson Chandler.

I think Green would be a better fit because he is the better athlete and scorer. One thing Memphis has had issue with from time to time is scoring.
