Dale WorthingtonParticipantHoly Moley.
Now, if they get Wall……
Welcome to the 2010 Final Four.
Even without J-Wall, they will still have a great chance to make a deep run.

MachettiParticipantCalpari might as well bag Lance Stephenson too. I won’t be surprised to see Ncaa violations down the road. So Memphis fans enjoy it NOW!

Hoop FreakZParticipantWow, with Xavier Henry and Demarcus Cousins coming, two top ten players in the class of 2009, Memphis is seriously making a run for a championship soon as long as the players aren’t one and done.

deuce4offWhat does them being or not being one and done have to do with a championship run? They will make a strong push for a ship their freshman year. If John Wall commits to Memphis, they are a lock final 4 team.

Hoop FreakZParticipantFirst, John Wall is only going to consider Memphis IF Tyreke Evans leaves early to the league. Recruiting and signing one and done players isn’t exactly great for a program’s long-term future and success

Hoop FreakZParticipantMaybe your right, Memphis is going to get great prospects because of Calipari’s offense and produce some very good products (hopefully Xavier Henry, Tyreke Evans, Demarcus Cousins) regardless if they are one and done, they can just reload every year. PS why are writing like that?

auberParticipantI’m not sold on Cousins, He looks to slow for his own good for me. The comparisons to Blatche are far from the truth. Andray Blatche is a 3 playing the 5 and is one of the most versatile young big man in the league today. Cousins to me is purely a stand up 5 or a sluggish 4. I think the NBA will eat him alive if he’s a one and done product. The whole Wall argument doesn’t make to much sense. I’m sure Tyreke would love playing off the ball and having Henry and Wall next to him. I don’t see Tyreke declaring anytime soon.

Hoop FreakZParticipantI completely agree with Cousins being to slow for the NBA, But i think he will be a very good College player and have an immeadiate impact at Memphis. However, Tyreke will probably be very upset sharing the ball with Wall, the reason Tyreke went to Memphis was because he was handed the keys to kingdom by Calipari after Rose left, He production will decrease greatly if he says for another year playing along Henry and Cousins, needless to say Wall. I dont think he wants that he has had he eyes on NBA since Sophomore Year of high school.

scoutguruParticipantIt’s really becoming sad to see how poor a conference C-USA has become. Before they changed up and had those teams going to the big east, you had teams there that were competing and constantly putting teams in the NCAAs and was solid conference. Now its just memphis and thats it. The guys at the athletic department for UAB are dummies man. How do you not lock up Cousins when he was right there in your clutches and already verbally committed. All they had to do is agree to let him out of his letter of intent if coach mike davis left, come on, how hard was that to do. He a top 5 recruit, and arguably would’ve been their best recruit ever, they should’ve bent over backwards to get him, but no they let him get away. And now look where he ends up signing, that good ol’ conference foe and behometh, memphis. Smh, I can’t believe man. It will be interesting to see how cousins does in college though when he’s going up against guys his level and size (mainly in memphis’ tough non-conference sched). From the small sample I’ve seen of him, he seems to be a poor man’s chris webber after the surgeries (no, I’m not saying he’s the next chris webber). He seems skilled, but I just don’t see the explosiveness and all out effort and defensive presence or shot blocking ability. I don’t know though, the 2 latter things may come with time, as coach cal preaches nothing but defense, thats the only way they’re winning now since they are an average offensive team.

auberParticipantI think Stevedot is trying to verbalize us all in lessons of poetry. Sadly It’s not working.

SmooveKRYPTParticipantThey don’t need John Wall…UNLESS Tyreke Evans goes pro, but if he stays…Evans, Xavier Henry, anybody, Cousins, & Taggart…thats a definate final 4 team!!!
