Will Memphis play Vince Carter at the 3?

They have Courtney Lee, Tony Allen, Vince Carter, Jordan Adams (rookie) and Jamaal Franklin. All of these guys play the two, with some covering the 3 spot. Will there be enough time for all of them or do you see them making a trade?

I certainly think they will for stretches.

As much as I like him coming out of SDSU Franklin hasn’t shown me enough for him to warrant any playing time. He’s got the toughness and grit to be the air apparent to Tony Allen as a defensive specialist but he won’t contributing much next year.

Jordan Adams fell into the perfect situation in which the Griz need perimeter scoring and it’s what he does best.

 I hope we start Vince at the 3 with Courtney Lee at the 2.

I can also see us playing Vince with Tony Allen with Vince being our main wing scorer and a 2 guard on offense with TA guarding small forwards and playing closer to the goal.  We could also start Q Pon at the 3 with Lee at the 2.  THEN you bring TA and Vince off the bench.  Adams would also get minutes as a shooter/scorer.

I don’t see many minutes for Jamal Franklin.  I wish we could trade him for depth at small forward or to get an athletic 4 to replace James Johnson and Ed Davis.

Especially at the end of games I imagine Carter playing a fair amount at the 3, even if he doesn’t much during the game.  Defense matters much more in the last few minutes of close games, and having Conley/Allen or Lee/Carter on the perimeter with Gasol in the paint will probably be their strongest defensive lineup that can still put points on the board.
