valentineThis is a good trade for both teams involved
Melo for Artest and Odom.Lakers starting lineup
Fisher/Blake/Crittenton
Kobe/Bell/Sasha
Anthony/Ebanks/Walton
Gasol/Powell/Caracter
Bynum/Elonu/MbengaKobe>Wade
Melo>Lehype
Gasol>Bosh0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/10/2010 - 5:47pm #351560
DNYCEThe Nuggets would have a solid team as well
Billups
Smith
Artest
Odom
Nene0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/10/2010 - 5:47pm #351561

mgreener_34ParticipantIt’s going to take alot more then that to get Melo, even more so because the Lakers are the Nuggets strongest competition
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/10/2010 - 5:50pm #351563
DNYCEMelo might leave the Nuggets empty handed just as Lebron did to the Cavs.
The Nuggets would be a top 3 team in the west with Odom and Artest.

Stojakovicfor3ParticipantFüçk that sh!t Bosh is better than Gasol and LBJ is way better than Melo
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/10/2010 - 5:53pm #351566

buckeyefanParticipantAs much as I hate Lebron he is above Melo by a good amount.
Also why would Denver ever make this trade.
Stop making topics that only help out your team and not the others.

WizardofOzParticipantAnd stop giving people negatives just because they don’t agree with your CRAZY IDEAS.

bkb77Participantyou better add in andrew bynum & the next 10yrs of 1st round picks.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/10/2010 - 5:55pm #351564

WizardofOzParticipantOKAY. This is out of line, even for you. Artest and Odom really solid players, but the Nuggets really want Carmelo back and if they can’t get him back, they’re going to want more then that. They’re going to want draft picks and even more players. When I clicked on this, I thought there was going to be a link to a rumor saying this might go down, but it was just another one of your silly homer trades. You really need to stop with this.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/10/2010 - 5:56pm #351569
DNYCEHonestly I don’t know why people are giving this a thumbs down, Melo and Kobe formed a tight bond on team USA, and Wade, Bosh, and James formed theirs. The Lakers are going to win the championship with either team(Odom/Artest combo or Melo), why not see Melo in the mix? Melo is always the forgotten player in the 04 draft and he can prove to people that he is still one of the very best. This would be the best situation possible for Melo and he knows it.

0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/10/2010 - 6:02pm #351573
DNYCEHow is this trade unrealistic? The Nuggets are not going to keep Melo after this season, why not make a trade that will keep the team just as competitive by getting something in return before Melo just leaves the team?
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/10/2010 - 6:07pm #351574

NYCrealdealParticipantthru FA seems to be like the perfect fit
no lakers0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/10/2010 - 6:10pm #351575

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantMelo is not getting traded.
And if he got traded…Denver fans would erupt in outrage if all they got is Artest and Odom.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/10/2010 - 6:10pm #351576
DNYCEI bet all the Knick fans are giving me thumbs down LOL, keep dreaming Knick fans. Melo isn’t goin to the Knicks and playing for D’antoni. Melo would be a bigger star on the Lakers because he will become a champ.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/10/2010 - 6:14pm #351578
DNYCEThe Lakers could even trade Bynum and Artest for Melo. I would do that in a heartbeat.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/10/2010 - 6:15pm #351580

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantDon’t take my points. I don’t take yours.
Denver would have to get more and more likely would have better offers on the table then Odom-Artest.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/10/2010 - 6:21pm #351583

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantThe Raptors and Cavs both got 2 1st round picks.
The Denver Nuggets will not and probably should not deal Carmelo Anthony. They have alot of cap space in 2011. They could built around him.
If Melo leaves, He would probably want a max contract. I don’t see LA as a realistic team to get Carmelo because I think like LeBron, Wade and Bosh- He will look to test the market.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/10/2010 - 6:22pm #351581
DNYCEThey wouldn’t get a better offer than Bynum and Artest for Melo. Look what happened to the Raptors and the Cavs, are the Nuggets going to let ths happen as well? Trade Melo to LA.
Fisher
Kobe
Melo
Odom
Gasol0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/10/2010 - 6:24pm #351587
DNYCEMelo loves LA, he stays here in the offseason. Melo would be thrilled to join the best franchise in sports.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/10/2010 - 6:25pm #351588
DNYCEWe could give the Nuggets our 1st and 2nd round draft picks, what now??
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/10/2010 - 6:28pm #351594

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantThe Nuggs would still have to accept the deal. Like I said before, I don’t see Denver dealing Carmelo because he’s a god in Denver. Moving him would be similar to Cleveland losing LeBron. I’m pretty sure when I say CP3 and Melo are not getting traded this calender year.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/10/2010 - 6:28pm #351596

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantThere isn’t a better package out their that is better than Odom/Artest or a Bynum/Artest package for Melo enough said
I could think of some better ones.

DNYCEJust give me one and i’ll shut up.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/10/2010 - 6:37pm #351599

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantWell, your looking at it as if Denver wants two older players back. Bynum is 22 and already had 3 knee injuries. Off the top of my head, here’s a couple
New Jersey- Denver
Terrance Williams, Derrick Favors, 2012 1st round pick for Melo
Los Angeles- Denver
Eric Gordon, DeAndre Jordan and 2012 1st round pick for Melo
Philadelphia- Denver
Andre Iguadala, Mareesse Spieghts for Melo
Houston- Denver
Trevor Ariza, Jordan Hill, 2011 1st round pick, 2012 1st round pick ( NY) for Melo
The point is, Bynum is damaged goods and Artest is not the same player as he was in his contract year in Houston. If Denver were to deal Carmelo, they would more or less look for younger talent. That’s just my opinion and I’m sure you will disagree with no actual reason.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/10/2010 - 6:38pm #351600

gregoden08ParticipantMelo wasn’t in the 04 draft genius….How can you put Melo over LBJ? Are you a freaking idiot?
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/10/2010 - 6:42pm #351603

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantYes, IF he picked the Lakers.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/10/2010 - 6:42pm #351604
DNYCEEric Gordon and Deandre Jordan? LMAO
Why would the 76ers trade their best player plus their best center for Melo??
Ariza and Hill is not better than Bynum/Artest pus 1st round pick.0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/10/2010 - 6:43pm #351605
McWinningParticipantBut when has he ever shown interest in Los Angelos? all ive heard is New York, and New Jersey (if they move to brooklyn).
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/10/2010 - 6:43pm #351602
DNYCEFactor in the fact that the team is ultimately up to Melo. If Melo told the Nuggets that he wants to go to the Lakers they would be thrilled to get Bynum and Artest for Melo.

T-Wolvesfan13ParticipantSorry keep dreaming! Melo wants to go to New york! He is just as good a friends with Amare as he is with kobe! And he would get more money! Why would he want to go to LA when next year he can get a ton of money to play for NY? No one is buying this so stop trying to sell it! And Melo is not better then Lebron and bosh would kill pau!
0 - Posted on: Sat, 07/10/2010 - 9:41pm #351663

TRC1991ParticipantThis post is bad. Really bad from almost all the angles…Melo isn’t going anywhere via trade Denver has made that VERY clear

willie wise fanParticipantd hamps on here still
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/11/2010 - 7:20am #351803

ckessler33ParticipantWhy would Denver want Artest, the guy is past 30 and only averaged 11 points, Bynum is another injury away from being out of the league, and Odom is past 30 also and average about 11 points also(granted he came off the bench, but the man is still very inconsistent) what makes you think 2 of these guys makes Denver a top 3 team in the west?!? Also no way Denver would never allow LA to get even better. Please go back to LA, you all will the finals next year regardless……so just shut up dude, Carmelo isn’t coming!!!!
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/11/2010 - 10:10am #351895
stanford hoopsYou only hear the knicks because knicks fans talk about it. They think everyone wants to come there . Or because Amare said it. News flash a bunch of other teams have the same chance as the knicks of getting melo. As far as the trade come on you sounding like a knick fan

DNYCEMelo to LA has a zero percent chance? Come on Knicks fans the Laker franchise is 10x better than the Knicks franchise and Melo knows it. Kobe and Melo are good friends, and I would love to see Melo win a ring.Melo will not win in NY. Haters can hate but he won’t win shiiit in NY and you clowns know it.
Fisher or Ridnour or Blake it really wouldn’t matter LOL
Kobe
Melo
Odom
Gasol
We will win again next year regardless if this trade happens, why not win with Melo??? Aren’t you fans tired of our team winning with two 7 foot monsters and Odom, and Artest, and Kobe?0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/11/2010 - 10:43am #351909

goneParticipantDNYCE u should do a Chris Paul to LA trade idea like Kongo Cash, Walton, Odom ,S$T Fisher for Chris Paul lolllllllllll
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/11/2010 - 10:58am #351920
DNYCEIf the Lakers wanted CP3 this is the best trade possible to land him, but Phil doesn’t care about elite PGs. I would love to see a Kobe, Paul backcourt, but it will never happen as long as we have Phil and the triangle as the system.
Lakers recieve: CP3,and Okafor(Huge contract of their hands)
Hornets recieve: Bynum, Odom, and Sasha(expiring contract)
Lakers:
Paul
Kobe
Artest
Gasol
OkaforHornets:
Paul
Thornton
Posey or Odom
Odom or West
Bynum0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/11/2010 - 11:04am #351924
stanford hoopsAre we done wit fantasy land yet? This isn’t gonna happen. We are the defending champs and we are happy with our team. All this is is the ranting of someones imagination who wants this to happen. Nothing more

DNYCELakers recieve- Melo, Affalo, and Balkman
Nuggets recieve- Bynum, Artest, and Sasha
The Nuggets owner isn’t stupid like the Raptors or the Cavs owner. If Melo doesn’t sign the extension expect for a trade to go down.

OldSkoolBasketballParticipantMelo is an all star at age 26 and Odom/Artest are 30 year olds past their primes. The draft picks are most likely in the high 20s. You have to give up Bynum and some other good prospects like Ebanks to get a sniff at Melo.

Gasol vs Boshwould be epic
