cuseflynn10ParticipantI just thought of this and haven’t thought into to much detail, but what do you think about a trade involving Bosh to Denver for Nene, Balkman, and Afflao. The money works out according to the Trade Machine, but the trade would have to happen December 15 or later.
This way the Nuggets have Billups-Smith-Carmelo-Martin-Bosh. That’s a pretty solid team and that way the Nuggets probably be able to keep Melo.
The Heat would get a true Center’s presence in Nene and add depth in Balkman and Afflao.
Maybe some draft picks would have to be added or maybe a different combination of players, but what do you think of a Nene/Bosh deal?

nbaretroParticipantIf your Carmelo, I think you need to go to New Jersey. They have the pieces to surround Carmelo with a chance to win a title.
– Harris would be a fantastic 3rd guy
– Lopez is a good #2 guy
– Role players ( Morrow, Outlaw, Williams, Farmar, Petro, etc)
– Lotto pick this year and Golden State’s pick in 2012.
Carmelo should lean towards New Jersey.

stanford hoopsThat would be very dumb for Miami to trade bosh after 10 games just because he isn’t playing great. Same as the knicks looking to trade Amare if he was playing like bosh You let a season and a half go by first before even considering it

bkb77Participant1st of all Bosh isnt going anywhere so thats not gonna happen, & 2nd as much as some people dont want 2 here it or believe it Melo is going to NY he will be with the knick, I think its been made pretty clear when he choose not to sign the extension with Denver & when he wouldnt sign with the nets when the favors trade was on the table. I dont know if it will be a trade or sign in the offseason but by the start of next season melo will be in NY.

NYK2010ParticipantNot sure why Mello would go to NJ, he’d be better off staying in Denver.
Harris is overrated, Lopez is a nice C but they have no PF Favors is not a sure thing.
The bench isn’t bad, but not sure about 7 mill for Outlaw and 4 mill for Morrow they could’ve used that cap room in a trade or to sign another big player this year.
I wonder how many teams can sign him out right in free agency.
The Nuggets, Knicks, Nets, Rockets, Pacers, Grizzlies, Timberwolves, Thunder, Kings all have money to sign him to a max deal.
Can almost positively rule out the Pacers, Grizzlies and Thunder since they seem to be fine at SF.

HitsterParticipantThere have been no new rumours of Melo being traded and the more the season goes on, I’d guess it is more likely he’ll see the season out with Denver. The longer Melo stays with Denver the more they remain in some sort of contention so trading him on from a stronger position would not give them a likely high lottery pick. With Melo now going into free agency any team would probably only give up expiring deals and limited assets for what might be a short term rental.
Also unless Melo clearly indicated he was likely to resign with one of the suitors then they would not be prepared to give away assets if they could get him for free. Eg the Knicks might just offer say Curry’s and Azubuike’s expiring deals around deadline day with no picks or young pieces thrown in so all the Nuggets would get would be around $6 million luxury tax savings. A lot could depend on how desperate the Knicks might get to rescue their season and might just put a decent package Denver’s way to acquire Melo alongside STAT and then look to add complimentary pieces next summer.
