I see that there may be an offer for Melo, and I hope it happens. I hear that all that the Knicks want for Melo from the Clippers is, any 2 of these 3 players; Austin Rivers, Jamal Crawford or JJ Reddick. If I’m the Clippers, I don’t hesitate to make this deal.

To be honest, they aren’t going to get a whole lot for Melo and a big part of that is Melo has to agree on the deal or it’s a no go because of his no trade clause to my knowledge. He’s 33 and nobody’s breaking the bank for him and I think the Knicks felt like they gave it a go and just want to move on and get his big contract finally off their books.

Really, I am for anybody who can possibly take down the Warriors. I mean, when a top 3 guy in the league joins a team that won a championship and the next year win the most games in a season in the history of the NBA, I automatically have to root against them. lol

People don’t take the Clippers serious and Melo has his doubters and critics over the years, so this could be redemption for all involved.

He has to go to a contender, there’s no other incentive to trade for him. So Cleveland, Clippers, or San Antonio. At least in my opinion, those are the only teams with any sort of shot.

Would the Spurs take this trade? Or the Knicks?

Trade Pau Gasol and Danny Green for Melo. Don’t neg me if you don’t like it. I’m just throwing ideas out there because I think we all want to see Melo out of NY.

Melo is close friends with Chris Paul. More likely he would go there. Spurs are going to have another 60 win season, they don’t need Melo.

Caveat: Could be excessive in terms of total players traded. Also, the Celtics might be getting the short end of the stick but they could possibly hoard more draft picks from it; this is just players. Additionally, the Clippers might be getting too much, but here goes:

    4-team trade-Knicks, Clippers, Boston, Denver

Knicks receive: Austin Rivers, Wesley Johnson, Luc Richard Mbah a Moute

Clippers receive: Melo, Malik Beasley, James Young, Demetrius Jackson, Gerald Green (trade exception)

Celtics receive: Jusuf Nurkic, Mike Miller, Alan Anderson, Sacha Vujacic

Nuggets receive: Jamal Crawford, Tyler Zeller, Marshall Plumlee

NYK gets a short term 2nd unit with long term trade value. Clips get Melo, 2 young players to develop on small, long term contracts (Beasley and Jackson), and 2 expiring contracts (Young and Green). Celts get a young center, a veteran who can contribute at the 2/3 position in the playoffs, 2 expiring contracts (possibly waivable) and I assume another treasure trove of draft picks. Nuggets get one of the best 6th men ever, 1 center on a good contract which can be traded the next season, and a young center to develop and be a 3rd option. All teams beside Denver will shed salary. Even so, Denver can put some good trade packages together with the players they get (and already have) to make a run at getting a really good player/ all-star calibre player in the off-season while still possibly getting the 8th seed this year.

    Thoughts?

Jamal Crawford is not worth that kind of sacrifice from the Nuggets. Nuggets giving away a legit young C for an aged Jamal? Then lose some young pieces for undrafted Plumlee and have to absorb the contrat of Zeller?

Wow. They are losing badly this trade.

Only the Clippers are getting a decent return though it’s not who/what they want (these youngsters should go to the Knicks and them keep Mbah a Moute).
