Obviously Atlanta would have to thro in a couple of number 1 picks But overall the hawks would get better instantly. Denver would get a proven stud like Horford (Hate to see him go) but for Melo i would trade Horford. Plus Portland actually wants crawford and i see him thriving there and the rest is minor.

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantWould that be a good deal for the Hawks? I actually don’t think this would improve their chances at getting by Orlando, Miami, Chicago or Boston. Without Horford their center situation would be ugly. Their PG situation is not good as is. And by trading Crawford they lose a lot from their second unit.
The Hawks would have a major hole in the middle though and they’re already lacking at PG. They’d kind of be like Miami Heat Lite (Joe Johnson instead of Wade, Carmelo instead of LBJ and Josh Smith instead of Chris Bosh) except with an even worse bench (Mike Miller and Haslem definitly have the edge on Teague and Corey Brewer).

SwatLakeCityParticipantThe Knicks will get melo you can count on it. The next big three will be Amare, Melo, and Felton in New York.
There are two positions which you absolutely cannot give up to get Melo cause they are so important to team wins. That is Center and PG. Especially when you have a franchise one like Horford or Noah. Those kinds of centers are really hard to find. And you can’t win like you want to without those two positions.

ghettosermonParticipantJust to clarify as an avid Hawks fan as a defensive center both Zaza, Josh Powell, and Jason Collins are better defenders. Horford is consantly abused by centers because of his height. He should be playing PF. Problem is Josh Smith is also a PF and is the heart of the team so Horford is relegated to trying his best against bigger men.
