Just looked at the measurements and are they all right?

Marquis Teague was listed as weighing only 178??? He looks alot bigger than that at standing only 6’1 barefoot.

Darius Johnson Odom is short if he is really 6’1 barefoot, and 6’3 in shoes, but he’s built weighing 212 pounds.

Will Barton needs to gain hell of alot more weight he only weighs 174 while standing 6’5

Henry Sims measured very impressively , he isn’t the greatest athlete , but he is very fluid and has a nice skill set.  I see him sneaking into the 1st round at 27 to Miami.  Especially considering this draft is not deep with Centers , too many project guys.  Big guys that measure that well and have some ball skills always find a way to move up draft boards.

When they do the standing reach test does the player just reach up in a natural way, or does he angle and strain to get the max reach? Do you get to stand on your toes? Sometimes you see things that don’t make sense, like Jae Crawford only standing reach of 8′ 3" while William Buford is shorter, has basically the same wing span, but reached 3" higher. Is is because Jae just had much broader shoulders and therefor his wingspan is less arm? Or did he just not reach high?

    William Buford6’4"6’5"214.66’9.5"8’6"11.38.7510.00
    Jae Crowder6’4.75"6’6.5"241.26’9.25"8’3"9.09.5010.50

Someone was talking about shoulder width changing that.  For instance, if Crowder has much wider shoulders, his reach would be shorter because his chest and back make up part of his wingspan.  Buford’s shoulders would be narrower causing his wingspan is made up of mostly arm legnth..

those measurements are going to affect a lot. one of the biggest winners people not talking about- quincy miller, 6’10" in shoes?!? and kevin jones just dropped 10 places by measuring 6’7"…damn, i like his game…

Another thing that I was thinking about is that maybe you don’t want to have a high standing reach. After all isn’t your vertical jump figured out based on your touch height minus your standing reach? Knock 2" off your standing reach by not really reaching and all of a sudden you’ve moved your 35" vertical to a 37" vertical and you are an elite athlete!

    Very good point..

The NBA has enough money to do things with computers now, right?? Why not measure head height and arm height with digital scales and compare the 2.  If there is a huge disparity, then you know that someone cheated.

Or, they could make the players wear a belt around their waist with a digital sensor attached that measures change in height.. Then, use the belt to determin height before jump at a normal stance and max height in the air..

I just feel like there are better ways to measure these things..
