Going into tonights game I knew both of these guys could play, but never really thought of them as NBA prospects. Diebler is 6 6 and can shoot lights out. I think he could contribute in the NBA as Kyle Korver does if his shot remains consistent. Mccamey has always been a good shooter, but I didnt realise how good of a passer he was. At 6 3 I feel like he could be a back up point gaurd in the NBA. I believe they said he was second in the NCAA in assists.

I have been talking up McCamey all year to no avail. I think he is a very good passer and an underrated shooter. He does need to work on his defense and he can be turnover prone. He and Turner were high school teammates by the way.

yea I mean I played High School basketball, but I couldnt imagine playing against a tandem like that. Mccamey/Turner. Mayo/Patterson. Durant/Greivis. Ellington/Henderson.

I want McCamey to start driving to the hoop more often. A guy with his combination of size and scoring ability shouldn’t settle for as many jumpers as he does.

How deep do you think Ohio State can go in the tourney, I think they’re Elite 8 capable. Thoughts??

Im actually a believer Ohio State could be Elite 8 worthy….They’ve grown on me alot. The only problem with them is that they only have a 6 or at most 7 man rotation, and that could be a problem down the stretch.I think they are capable on making a run though.

As for Diebler, he’s not quite an NBA player IMO because he’s a poor defender, ball-handler, and literally provides zilch outside of 3-point shooting. He doesn’t even attempt 2 shots inside the arc. Not good.

McCamey is a player I like. He could be a NBA player that surprises and ends up like a poor mans Deron Williams or he could be too lacking in quickness to play in the NBA. He’s a good passer, but I don’t think he’s the elite passer that Williams is,nor does he have the basketball IQ of Williams. He seems more likely to be a Derek Fisher type PG in the NBA.

I was really high on Purdue until Hummel went down, that was a huge blow to them. I think OSU could definitely make it to the Elite 8.

Only problem I see with OSU is the lack of depth. They have 5 guys that average over 32 minutes per game. They only have one big man that can produce and that is only off of the offensive boards. You do have Turner, Lighty, and Buford that are all lights out players. But all three like to get things going by driving to the basket. Play a team that is floppin with some success and you have the makings of a long day. Don’t get me wrong I respect what the buckeyes have done and are capable of doing but only having 6 guys that play on a consistent basis will be their downfall.

I really don’t get how Mccamey is not in the ’11 mock draft as at least a high 2nd rounder. This guy has great size for the position, and this season, since Chester Frasier graduated, his playmaking ability and vision has really shined. A lot of the times he passes guys open, when they’re virtually being smothered. His range is unlimited, although he could show some more consistency. I just think he has to be ahead of Corey Fisher in the mock, cause Corey is more of a combo guard who is severely undersized and lacks hugely in the way of athleticism to make up for it, and shows a lot of tunnel vision and very little playmaking ability. While, Mccamey is more of a pure PG. But Mccamey certainly has the chance to play his way onto the NBA radar. With a solid showing the rest of this season. But most importantly next year, as it will be his last go around in college and 2nd year being PG full time at Illinois. They have virtually everyone of importance coming back next year. I see them as the early Big Ten favorites next year, with the development of their good Freshmen turning Sophomores. Winning a lot of the times is what turns scouts heads, hopefully he can win on a bigger scale and turn scouts heads. I compare this guy to a Derek Harper type, a big PG who can stroke it and still make plays for other guys with his size.

I don’t trust that Ohio State will go far with Turner, Diebler, Buford and Lighty consistently playing 40 minutes a game in close ones.
