I hope I have spruced everything up especially the promises and late first round players. Constructive Criticism is appreciated. I also have comments for 1st and 2nd round

mikeyvthedonParticipantWhere I have the hardest time believing Thomas Robinson slips past 3. He is not my favorite prospect, but he is built like a tank, has prototype PF size and I think teams love how steady he was this past season (even though he at times struggled with length). Can’t see him slipping past his hometown team of Washington, while I would not at all be surprised if he were a Bobcat, either.
Also am starting to be unsure about Zeller going before Leonard. I like Zeller more, feel he was more skilled at a similar stage and is a flat out better player, but I think teams are buying into Leonard hard. Otherwise, it seems pretty standard. Perry Jones could go anywhere from 7-21 I believe. Still think Perry is worth a lottery gamble, but I can see why teams might pass. Seems like a pretty standard Mock Draft, it could happen but it just seems safe to me and unlike an actual draft. More by need than by best players on the board. Who am I to judge, mine is not better or worse. Just my feedback.

bad boysParticipantwill not take sullinger. He can not play along side Monroe that would be defensive suicide.

mattmancalcagnoParticipantI believe I put in my comments that if detroit wasn’t sold on sullinger then zeller would be the next best option. I have seen a bunch of mocks with people putting Henson in detroits spot, even though he was a great defensive stopper in college I dont think it will translate that well to the nba since he is rail, he is going to get tossed around down in the paint. Atleast with sullinger he is a big physical player who has some what of an outside shot and can take you in the low block, but the knock on sully is that he cant play against taller opponents and everything with the weight. Its pick your poison basically u know what your getting with both, I have even seen lamb in detroits spot and I think that wouldnt be that bad either.

mattmancalcagnoParticipantthanks man, i dont think jordan is going to draft another big man unless it is someone who has extreme upside like a drummond. I wanted to put Robinson there but I think Jordan is looking for a homerun for a pick. With Washington I think they are gonna look for a running mate for Wall and Beal is there best option and I feel Beal is the overall better prospect than T-rob
Both zeller and leonard are legit 7 footers but i think zeller runs the floor better and is more physical rebounder than leonard despite his athleticism.

SwatLakeCityParticipantSully and Monroe are very similar players. They both play below the rim, and are more offensive oriented big man. If Detroit drafts Sully they will be giving up a lot defensively down low. Detroit is a team that I can see making the playoffs next year if they get the right player through the draft. Defense is one the important things in the NBA. You are going to win too many games with a poor defensive team especially with a poor defensive frontcourt. It would be just too easy for opponents to hit inside shots. If Detroit wants to make the playoffs next year than they need to draft a defensive minded big man to pair with Monroe’s offense.
Now this is not to say that I think Henson is the best pick even though you say he is built like a rail. He is built like a rail, and I agree that will make him a little vulnerable at the next level, but there is someone else that Detroit should pick, Meyers Leonard. Like MikeyV said, teams are starting to buy into his upside. He had a monstor showing with all the measurements and athletic testing at the combine, and a lot of teams will take that seriously. Plus he had a great sophomore season. So while Zeller may be more polished, teams are going to for Leonard because he is more gifted athletically and younger. That upside potential, and he is looking more and more like a top 10 pick.
Leonard would be a good pick for Detroit because of a few things, his defense like I already mentioned, his upside, and also because of his size. His showing at the combine will prove the difference, especially when you already have someone that struggles against bigger and more physically built opponents. It will make a difference if you have someone that is more physically built to give your team what Monroe doesn’t. That’s why I’d have to say Leanord would be a very good pick for Detroit, but Sully would not be so good.
