BleedGreen808ParticipantPortland Gets:
Pat Connaughton
Mason Plumlee
Brooklyn Gets:
Rondae Hollis-Jefferson
Steve Blake
I’m surprised at this trade. I thought RHJ would be a nice replacement for Batum at the 3. He wouldn’t provide much offense but he can defend. Also suprised that Brooklyn gave up Plumlee for the 23rd pick in the draft. They had been pushing for a lottery pick for Plumlee.

dmo21ParticipantI think Portland wins this as you get the pogo stick of Plumlee (who actually has NBA experience) as well as a good shooter/athlete in Cannaughton. RHJ is the better defender than Cannaughton, but Pat can shoot and do more offensive stuff. Brooklyn probably could have gotten more.

ChewyParticipantfor Portland. They have a young, athletic center in Leonard and they just picked up another young, athletic 7 footer in Plumlee.
On top of that, they get a promising 2nd rd prospect in Connaughton.
Portland clearly won this trade IMO.

ExumInfernoParticipantPortland did well here, and not that they can be replaced but Plumlee and Vonleh and Henderson around with R Lopez and Aldridge and W Matthews possibly leaving as free agents shows they have a plan.
Portland can put a lot of young players on the floor if their many free agents leave, and would also have money available in the future so their rebuild might be a short one.
Not sure about Brooklyn, if B Lopez leaves the Nets there is nobody in the paint.
At least there was a draft trade made, not sure what lots of other teams were doing, and they were doing nothing.
