 I would agree with you about Chriss, but I think he’ll be gone before they pick. 8 months ago, Skal was considered a top 3 pick. Then he had an Andre Drummond college season and totally flopped. I know Masai is a ninja when it comes to the draft and picking prospects that make our heads scratch, but Skal or Davis is probably the option.

 

Nothing against Sabonis, but I dont feel his game translates to the NBA of today. 10 years ago he would probably be going top 3-5 in this draft.

What does that even mean? 

Not saying he should be a top-five pick or anything and I don’t think he’ll be a star but there’s little doubt in my mind that he can be a solid role player. 

Watch the Syracuse game and see how well Sabonis can guard on the perimeter in ball-screen actions. Watch Utah and see how he dominated Poeltl inside. He’s relentless on the offensive glass, and has good mobility and touch. Guys that do that will always have a place no matter how much small ball there is.

 The game today is guard driven and the protypical big man who is not very athletic is becoming something of the past. I think him and Valancinuas together would not be as effective because of the lack of athleticism and credible threat from outside. Sabonis could be a decent player in the league, no doubt. But drafts can be crapshoots and you have to go with top tier talent. Labissiere, Davis, and even Maker to an extend ( although he is a risk at 9) have much higher talent ceilings. The main thing is, Sabonis and Valanciunas together would have been great 10-15 years ago…but not in today’s guard driven, high tempo basketball.

 Been saying this for a while continuing his theme he is likely talking about Furkan Korkmaz. Ujiri has scouted him all year. Their where also rumours he would only stay in the draft if he got a promise in the lotto yet he still scouted him and he stayed in the draft.

No way…Hes talking about Maker.

Skal Labissiere is the one player who Im certain will be a bust. Hes mentally fragile. 

Toronto had easy access to Maker all season. Theyre the only ones who know about his KG like potential.

 I wouldn’t think it would be a crazy thing to pick Maker at 9. He has Top 10 potential and maybe your right, Ujiri’s staff likely scouted him more than anybody and they may have found something they like. But with Toronto having a workout today with Stone also Diamonds second workout and Zubac both projected to be project bigs at 27 it seems like Korkmaz being the selection at 9 is the likely pick unless a top tier gaurd or wing like Brown, Murray, Hield, Dunn or forwards Bender or Chriss fall to them which doesn’t seem likely.
