I don’t understand why the Hornets wouldn’t be jumping all over drafting Kendall Marshall at pick 10 to pair with Davis. I mean, who would you want throwing lobs to Davis – Marshall or Jarrett Jack?

The best thing for Davis would be to have a quality pass first PG who’s able to feed him easy looks to get him into the game. Marshall can do exactly that. We’ve seen how effective Rubio was when he came into the league, and Marshall has a similar passing ability to him.

Not to mention that a quality PG would help keep Eric Gordon at the team too. I just think it makes perfect sense to draft Marshall here. I don’t get why it hasn’t been talked about more.

There will be better players available at #10 than Marshall.

Otherwise I would prefer to play Jarrett Jack over Kendall.

Nope. But Marshall is poor defender and shooter.

why on earth would you say that. Hes not even been playing well on a poor team. So you got your ‘so called stud’ in Davis  to lead you to the promise land n you think Jacks gonna be leading the way??????

You think Jack will help improve Davis’ offensive game more than Marshall would?

Marshall passes well yes, but he also lets his man pass him just as well. In this day of fast athletic pgs, he is too much of a lability. Ya he jumped higher than expected during the athletic drills, but all speed, quickness, and agility results were alarmingly low. Like said above, there will be better prospects at #10. Davis will need a good pg who can get him the ball, but I say pass on Marshall and get one in the future. I honestly,I think unless lilliard falls to them, I rather have Grevis as my pg prospect over Marshall. Will he succeed? Maybe not, but I rather give him the chance over Marshall at the expense of bringing in Rivers, Waiters, either Jones, or Leonard. In that note, I rather them target Leonard at 10 or Rivers/Waiters. Even if Gordon is kept, we know how important a 6 man is and Rivers/Waiters are instant offense.

I agree with KHAM83.  Sure, Marshall might pass better than Jack, but there will be superior players available with the 10th pick.  The Hornets don’t need to panic and use the draft to address their hole at pg; they have free agency and future drafts to do that.  Marshall may be an outstanding passer, but his ceiling is probably Jose Calderon.  And there is no guarantee he ever becomes as good a shooter as Calderon.  The Hornets have holeds at every position except SG, assuming they keep Eric Gordon.  They should just draft the BPA.

@the baller way: The Hornets shouldn’t think Jarrett Jack will lead them to the promised land, but they surely shouldn’t think that of Marshall, either.

I agree with Joe Wolf. I think they will get Rivers, Lamb or Waiters if either of those are available for the simple fact that they are on the fence about Gordon. I would love to see Marshall get drafted that high though because i’m a Tarheel fan. Dude has amazing court vision and is a big point guard who loves to pass. Roy Williams likes scoring from his point guard and big man and that wasn’t Marshall’s game. He loves to set people up. I think drafting him would make Gordon want to stay because he would definitely want to play with a point guard like that.

I think he’s a possibility there too.  I think 10 is the highest he’ll go, but I still think there’s a chance he’ll go there.  The more I think about it, the more I think they’ll get a guard like Lamb, Rivers or Waiters but it would make sense to add Marshall for his distribution.  He could make Eric Gordon look really really good.

Marshall may not wow people with his shooting touch, but he doesn’t take dumb shots as was evident by his 47% and 35% FG and 3 point percentages.  Those are not numbers of a guy who takes a lot of bad shots.

I agree that Marshall would be a nice fit in NO. they will match any contract offer to Gordon, so they need a PG. Jack is not the answer. Marshall is a floor general and NO will look at him long and hard at #10 imo.

With Curry injury history, and Golden State failure to offer an extension, how surprise will you all be if Golden State actually took Marshall at 7? Jackson and others compared Klay Thomas to Reggie, could Marc like the idea of a Reggie-Jackson like backcourt? That will be a huge surprise. Assume this happens, who do you move Curry for? And I’m just throwing a thought out there, don’t need any “this won’t happen”comments.

We need a scorers we only have 1 scorer and 1 3 point shooter on the whole team which is Gordon for both, lol, so we do not have the luxury to draft a Kendall Marshall at 10 just to fill a need. Jack is a much better scorer than Marshall and I would rather roll with Jack. In this year’s draft for the Hornets at the PG position it is Lillard or bust simple as that. If Lillard is not there which he probably wont be thanks to Blazers and Raptors then we need to go with Best player available or a SG like Lamb, Rivers, Ross, Waiters. But my first choice would be Lillard if he falls to 10 which I doubt, we havent even worked him out yet and we work out Marshall on saturday. So maybe Lillard’s agent is not letting him workout pass the Raptors at 8.

I am about 60% on the side that Marshall is not even a NBA caliber player. So, I think it would be a bad idea for anyone to take him this high.
