FastAndFuriousParticipantOn ESPN
First half is over Kentucky up 36-23
Marquis Teague has 8 points,5 assist, 3 boards, 0turnovers
He’s looking really really really good, very quick off the dribble, killing John Jenkins.
It looks like he’s finally getting it, and after coming off his best game of the season where he played extremley well against Florida(12pts,10ast).

hiphopismylifeParticipantHe’s shown some growth, as anyone would expect playing for Calipari, who is a phenomenal coach and communicator. I’m still not on the Teague bandwagon though.
I just don’t think he has the mental makeup to lead a team at the next level. I don’t see the charisma and mental toughness that it takes to be a starting NBA point guard. I watched him play at least 10 times in high school and I can’t even pinpoint exactly why but it’s just a gut feeling from the way he looks on the court. More like a raw athlete than a basketball player.
As ridiculous as this might sound, I think being at Kentucky has protected his deficiencies in a lot of ways. Yes he’s on the national spotlight and has a great deal of pressure on him. But he also came into a situation where he wouldn’t be asked to be the man, just blend in and run the show. His lack of impressive stats looks okay because they’re loaded. Had he gone to Indiana, Louisville, or any of his other finalists, there would have been more pressure to be that school’s John Wall, and I think his stock would have suffered even more than we’ve seen. Not to mention there is no better cure for early struggles than the fact that this team managed to keep winning, sometimes seemingly in spite of him.
Lastly, this team doesn’t have another point guard, so in situations where he may have normally been forced in the doghouse for games at a time, Calipari had to let him play through it, giving him the chance to rebuild his confidence, and the result is a much improved player now.

Taylor Gang MikeParticipantYea he is VERY IMPRESSIVE. reminds me of Lou Williams, with his scoring ability and the floater, thats the best comparision for him. I love his game, you can see as a PG he has the ability of his brother. He has the IT factor that these other PGs dont have, im sick of people saying he dosent have the best upside, these seniors and juniors dont. he is only a freshman, and he is leaving because my lil bro (i call him) Ryan Harrow is coming in nex year to Kentucky to shine

FastAndFuriousParticipantI agree, Kentucky is already the favorite to win it all already, but if Teague can keep this type of play up, they may win every game by a landslide in the tourney.

Knicksboy42ParticipantThe Lou Williams comparison is perfect, but if anything, that’s why I don’t like him as a lottery pick. I feel like he’s not a great passer. Before you throw big assist games my way, he’s playing with three other lottery level talents, and Doron Lamb, who I like as well. I think someone is gonna draft him this year thinking he could be a great point guard, and might be mistaken.
