Lotto StudParticipantFor Wojo to be an understudy of Coach K for so long, I thought his opportunity would have been came.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantCoach K must feel like a pimp, becuz they say imitation is the best form of flattery….With the Wojo hire, that makes 5 former players currently serving as head coaches in the college ranks Johnny Dawkins,Tommy Amaker,Bobby Hurley and Chris Collins……Not to mentiion the numerous amount of former assistants serving as head coaches……
Nice to see ADs are now looking at former players as head coaches, watching them recycle the same losing coaches over & over was getting tiring…
I hear Shareef Abdul Rahiem is being looked at for the Cal job…

Moon RiverParticipantI heard Coach K on the radio the other day and he was asked how long he would coach and he said I think I am good to go for another five (5) years. Wojo has been an assistant at Duke for 14 years, so I don’t think he could afford to sit around and wait five more years to have a shot at the Duke gig. Will be interesting to see Wojo/Hurley/Collins/Dawkins and Amaker (no Quinn Snyder) to fight it out after Coach K departs.

CameronCrazy11ParticipantJohnny Dawkins and Tommy Amaker obviously had the most success of there guys in the tourney this year, but I personally think Chris Collins is the best of those guys. Like WindyCity said, it’d be interesting to see if Jeff Capel could get the job too. He’s proven he can recruit top guys by getting the likes of Blake Griffin and Willie Warren (remember the good years) to go to Oklahoma and won a good amount at VCU too. Regardless of who they choose though when Coach K finally decides to hang it up for good, there are going to be quite a few suitors for that job and I’m hoping they stay in house with the hire.

TarHeelRavenParticipantWojo has been a staple on the Duke bench next to Coach K for 15 years. He talks to the sideline reporters at halftime and has obviously been a big part of Duke’s success for the last decade and a half. He was a fiery competitor while at Duke and played with a passion that few others could match. I would expect hom to bring that sort of energy to the Marquette program. Tommy Amaker and Johnny Dawkins have been great recently with Stanford and Harvard. I think Wojo is a solid hire for Marquette after learning from one of the best for a long time. I would expect the K coaching tree will continue to blossom with Wojo’s tenure at Marquette. Good luck to him.

DolanCareParticipantHe definitely paid his dues at Duke, so he should be more than prepared and experienced for this new gig. It seems like the Marquette coaching job has become a less coveted position mainly because of reconferencing. Hopefully for Wojo, he’ll be able to get some good recruits.

IhateusernamesParticipantI dont really like anything about Duke, but something in me likes WOJO. He was the Aaron Craft of his time. Screamy, red head, white boy who is always on the floor blah blah blah, but I like the guy for some reason.
He has to have made big time connections working for Coach K, and recruiting nationwide. He should recruit enough talent to make consistent tourneys at Marquette where basketball is the only money making sport on campus. His x’s and o’s remain to be see.
