Dgtool2ParticipantMarquese Chriss is projected #3 to Celtics now on dx mock.

ChoppyParticipantThat would be a mistake in my opinion. High risk pick as he has high bust potential. Not going to contribute right away either.

he_gets_bucketsParticipantI don’t really think they need a guy whose going to contribute right away.. and of the guys at number 3 who could contribute "right away" at 3, assuming Ingram and Simmons are off the board, none of them(Hield, Murray, Dunn, Bender, Brown etc) are going to be setting the world on fire in their rookie years either. Yeah, Chriss would be a reach there but he has as higher potential as any outside the top 2, and Boston aren’t in need of a lottery pick to come in and be a huge contributor, they have solid players everywhere. They can afford to take on a project player if they think he’s going to be a star.

Arc12345ParticipantI never really saw him going that high, but if you think he’s your guy I guess you reach. This draft is starting to remind me of the 2007 draft with Oden and Durant where you have 2 guys (Simmons and Ingram) who are a clear 1-2 with everybody else behind them.
His athletic stats are pretty impressive, and he’s shown more than Bender has who barely played this year. That’s very different than Porzingis, who everyone compares him to. Porzingis got some serious run with his club in Spain.
He’s also not a Cheick Diallo who played 7 minutes per game…he averaged 14 pts, 5 rebounds, and almost 2 blocks per game on 53% from the field and 68% from the line in 24.9 min! That’s pretty impressive considering the minutes. KAT didn’t have crazy numbers at Kentucky due to his limited minutes, and we all see how he produced this year. Obviously Chriss doesn’t appear to be KAT, but you get my point.
In regards to contributing right away, I really feel like you just don’t know. Everyone said Porzingis was 2 years away from contributing pre-draft and he was runner up for rookie of the year. So who really knows.

natevalParticipantI take Thon over Chriss. Both have high bust potential but big upside. I think Thon becomes a really good player

thatdudeParticipantThat was for shock value to cover up the fact that they swallowed their pride and finally moved Simmons to #1.Chriss at 3 is absurd. He’s a nice prospect but way too far away. Unless they want a dleague guy for 2-3 years at 3. Hard to justify but then again Ainge missed on Greek Freak (for Olynyk) and probably has the clout to live down a huge bust.

ravneetsingh07ParticipantThey should trade down for a big man or draft BPA at 3. They can find a solid big at pick 16
