Lotto StudParticipantNow that Mark Jackson is FINALLY a Head Coach……
- Will he make Monta Ellis a better player & possibly convince him to learn the PG position?
- Who brings the ball up & run the offense Curry or Ellis?
- Will we see Jeremy Tyler get action or will he buried on the end of the bench/hid in the D-League?
- Will he have patience with Klay Thompson, if he has any off the court issues?
- Is Jackson’s Bold statement an indication that he will keep Ellis?

RUDEBOY_ParticipantLet’s just Hope he’s not Another Quinn Buckner..Buckner had no coaching experienced..He talked a great game as a commentator, and alot of teams were impressed with his winning ways as a player and said he’ll make a great coach 1 day..After being interviewed year after year for openings..He finally got a head coaching job..
Buckner couldnt get along with the players, management and had no direction in which he was taking the team…He lasted only a year in Dallas and havent coached again…..lol

- Will he make Monta Ellis a better player & possibly convince him to learn the PG position? I think they might butt heads a couple times during the season, but I think he will play more sg then pg.
- Who brings the ball up & run the offense Curry or Ellis? Curry, he is a better distributer and he run the offense, ellis will be a 2 and will fill in only when curry on bench or injured. Ellis will improve as a pg but still won’t be a great one.
- Will we see Jeremy Tyler get action or will he buried on the end of the bench/hid in the D-League? Depends on how hard he works, he will probably be a back up, and will have to prove he belongs in starting lineup. He might go to the dleague atleast once in the season, but I think he will play a good 15min a night if he’s willing to play defense and play hard
- Will he have patience with Klay Thompson, if he has any off the court issues? I think he will be hard on players when they make bad dicisions, this is the perfect time to shape a player the way he will be the rest of career, he is too easy on him, Klay will keep making the same mistakes, if hes too hard he will lose confidence. Mark has to find the middle point
- Is Jackson’s Bold statement an indication that he will keep Ellis? Not really, because coaches especially new ones, have to talk good about their players or they are already on a bad track. If ellis is moved, it would be up to the owners and gm not jackson, He just has to play his part like a rumour being mentioned isn’t real until its done and official otherwise its already a derail in the chemestry of the team.

RUDEBOY_Participantlol..^^
I heard Jackson say during the finals after he had gotten the job..That trading someone like Ellis that can get you 20 points in their sleep, is something you dont what to do…
Tyler might be 1 of the 5 best players out of this draft in 2 years….If he comes to camp in shape ,Jackson will see what he has to offer..
I dont see Klay having much of an impact this season,he’ll have the same effect and put up the same numbers that Heyward had in Utah…

cabbycabParticipantAt this point in his career, why does Ellis have to "learn" to be a PG? He is a pretty darn good player already.
Curry and Ellis are interchangeable as far as running the office. They can both be shooting point guards.
I have a feeling that Tyler will be waxing the pine this year.
Thompson is not ready to be a starting SG and so Jackson would definately want to keep Ellis around at least for this year.

Scottoant93ParticipantTrue, what record do you predict the warriors will have next season i say if full season 40-42 and they miss the playoffs I think they will start off slow and maybe make a run mid season

jazz270ParticipantMost Jazz fans know that Mark Jackson was the worst kind of cancer in the Jazz lockerroom during Jackson’s last days as a player.
Who would dream as a second-rate backup PG to try and divide the team away from one of the game’s greatest players?
Jackson did that, tried to undermine John Stockton, who’s jockstrap was far too heavy for Jackson to ever think of carrying..Jackson thought he should be the PG, and not Stockton. Incredible. Stock simply ignored him, and it caused a deep divide on the team, which the Jazz soon rectified.
Jackson is not liked in Utah, not by anyone who knows what happened here. John Stockton was one of the classiest, best human beings to ever play in an NBA uniform.
It distressed me to no end that GS hired the man, as Curry is one of my favorite players. Whether he can coach or not remains to be seen, but anyone who trusts Mark Jackson, believes anything that he says, is a fool. It’s all about Mark Jackson, what can you do for him, and not what can he do for you.
The Jazz organization is also one of the classiest in the league, and never said anything against Jackson during his time here, or even after. They take the high road, always have.
Jackson has never stopped hating the Jazz or John Stockton, it was obvious listening to him talk on his gig.
Good luck with this guy, GS. Maybe he has changed, or maybe there will be enough success that things will be all right.
I doubt it.

Memphis MadnessParticipantI never watched the old Run TMC on the Warriors (Tim Hardaway, Mitch Richmond, and Chris Mullin) but it sounds like they have something like that going with Ellis, Curry, and Klay Thompson. They should play run-and-gun since they have a rebounder in David Lee. They need some defensive role players (Udoh and Amundson is a good start) but this team needs to run-and-gun. Teams are what they are and this is a high-powered offense. I would keep all three and see what happens.
Not sure I would guarantee a playoff spot. I would rather guarantee a title in a few years and then try to add another nice piece in the draft next year. They’ve got a good young core and adding another nice player will help things out. If you are rebuilding and trying to build a contender you can’t skip steps.
Do I think that Mark Jackson will be a good hire? Don’t care. I DO like the hire though. Anything to break up the Jackson-Van Gundy-Breen Commentator Axis of Evil. "Mama, there goes that man again!" has to be THE single creepiest phrase I have ever heard during an NBA game. … just sounds weird, like a Child Molester Awareness poster quote or something.

bigdaddybluesmanParticipantIf you study their team roster you see major holes there. This is not a well put together group. They have enough scoring and really do not need Ellis’s 20 points a game. They need to have players that fit together, play together and play defense.
One thing Jackson said that they will be held accountable and must play defense. From what I have seen that’s asking a lot from a team who is a bit clueless about defense. Even DLee was never a good one on one defender. Nobody on this team has shown that ability really. But that’s were Jackson comes in, as a coach he must devise a scheme to utilize what he has in the way of players for offense and defense.
Curry and Ellis cannot co-exist IMO and be expected to have an effective defense there.
I expect to see Ellis traded if there is a season and maybe later Biedrins unless he can fit in with DLee. That’s a project right there for Jackson as much as the Ellis-Curry issue and maybe even more important.
A good trade or 2 and a free agent of some sort and this team has the ability to become very competitive. But there are a lot of ifs.

Memphis MadnessParticipantThe NBA is not like golf. The team with the HIGHEST point total wins. They have the offensive weapons which is great, now they just need to all get tougher and play better defense. If Mark Jackson can’t get these guys to get tougher and play defense then he is the wrong guy for the job.
I think they need to get an enforcer like Dalembert to help protect the paint and allow David Lee to play more at power forward. Then they can go out and get Deshawn Stevenson to be a defensive-minded wing player off the bench who can also hit some 3’s.
Starters
PG Stephen Curry
SG Monta Ellis
SF Dorrell Wright
PF David Lee
C Samuel Dalembert
Bench
PG Jeremy Lin
SG Klay Thompson
SF Deshawn Stevenson
PF Louis Amundson
C Epke Udoh
Reserve: Jeremy Tyler
… that’s a well balanced team with offense and defense. The starting lineup has two scorers, a 3 points shooter, a rebounder who can put a few points on the board, and a shot blocker/defender. The bench has a scorer/perimeter threat, a wing defender and 3 point shooter, a point guard, and two hustling big men who can get some rebounds. In reserve you have a big center with lots of upside. That team is possible if they go out and splurge a little on Dalembert and Stevenson.

bobforteParticipanti still think they should look to add nene during free agency and try and trade ellis for a three. I’m thinking those trade rumors were good for both teams warriors and sixers.

Memphis MadnessParticipantbobforte,
if the Warriors trade for Nene then they don’t need to trade Monta Ellis. With Monta penetrating and Nene inside then Steph Curry, Dorrell Wright, and Klay Thompson will be wide open on the perimeter with David Lee, Udoh, and Amundson getting the rebounds. Oh, and they have Jeremy Tyler as a backup center.
That would be a good team. In the NBA today you need a great mix of offense and defense with some high level rebounders. If the Warriors added Nene then they would have all that. Just pick up a scrappy bench guard to play some tight defense then they will be set. David Lighty would be a good, cheap pickup.
