JDB12ParticipantI can’t wait for Marcus to come back, and that’s coming from a North Carolina hater! Watching this guy play is always a treat because he has that alpha male, game-changer, big shot maker, nobody-can-stop-me attitude whether he’s taking it to the rim, or dropping a jumper in someone’s grill. I think he’ll bring this UNC team to a deep run into the tournament and it’ll be a lot of fun watching him do it.
Next I think this kid will be a second round sleeper. Or he’ll be the type of guy who will have an unbelievable Kemba Walker type season and shoot up to be a mid-late first rounder. No matter where he gets picked, I think he’ll be a solid contributor in the NBA. He has good quickness and speed, solid I.Q and passing, and can fill it up. If he stays away from anymore injuries I believe he’ll have a good basketball career ahead of him!

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantI love Paige’s game at the college level but I’m not sure how well it will translate to the NBA. His lack of strength and elite quickness, athleticism will hurt him a lot more at the next level. I don’t really see him as a pure pg but more of an undersized 2 who can handle the ball. His best aspect is his ability to score and create shots but I think he could struggle to do that against NBA level defenders and his physical disadvantages will probably always make him a defensive liability.

JDB12ParticipantI agree that his stature is a concern as well as lack of elite athleticism, but then there’s a guy like Aaron Brooks who kind of fits that Marcus Paige mold that has made a solid career as a backup in the league scoring the basketball!

BiggysmallsParticipantOh Paige won’t be a great NBA guy…who cares though. He’s great for college bball. College bball needs guys like Paige and Perry Ellis who aren’t NBA prospects but stay 3 and 4 years.
College bball wants the pace picked up…that will make the product even worse if they continue to have kids that can’t score. You can run ‘n’ gun all you want but if the proverbial gun isn’t loaded there’s no point in playing.
I’m excited to see how UNC looks once Paige comes back. Still not sure I see "best team in the country" but I haven’t seen how Jackson and the other wing who was a freshman who’s name escapes me look early on.
They’ll be right there, but Paige needs to be healthy and closer to the Sophomore version of Paige if the Tar Heels are going to make noise.
