reporter after game: “How did it feel to get back out there after having to miss 5 straight games ?”

Kobe: “It felt like my mama let me go back out to the playground.”

Kobe knocks down his 6th game winner this year hitting a three with 4 seconds remaining to give the lakers a one point victory. He finished with 32 points on 13-19 shooting and scored 11 in the final 5 minutes of a very close game putting the team on his back.

This is why Kobe is still MVP IMO. This guy is the most clutch player since Jordan. Hes hurtin and all but when his team needs him the man comes up big.

And again I will state this is not coming from a Kobe dick rider. I used to hate the guy till like 3 or 4 years ago. When he developed into a leader and started to play within the game, I really started to respect him. Now Im a big fan despite my hate for the Lakers.

yeah, well im one of those kobe dick riders as you put it. And i think he still has mvp caliber basketball in him and people talking about him falling off are forgetting he was beasting the first 6-7 weeks before he got banged up with some injuries.

In the final seconds of the game, the only player I’d rather have the ball in the hands of than Kobe is MJ.

LeBron is thunder. He is strong, gets to the rim at will and will make a lot of noise. Its non-stop and keeps sounding off throughout the game.

Kobe is lightning. Quick, shocking, and lethal. All it takes is one strike sometimes, but once he gets going you can’t stop it. Thunder can shake you, but lightning is what you fear.

“Thunder can shake you, but lightning is what you fear.” That’s poetic. But seriously, lebron is the mvp in this league, but kobe is the mvp for the last 5 minutes and the most skilled player. But at this point, i can’t even really waste energy arguing against bron as the best, but it’s still very close and in a 7 game series, I’ll take Kobe.

I agree with you 100% Perez. For 90% of the game, I would take LBJ over anyone in this league right now. But in the final seconds, when your team needs it most, Kobe is the only answer. He’s got that cliche Assassin like mentality. LBJ is a great all-around player, but when you need one guy to take over and close the game out for you, I think Kobe is hands down the way to go. I think the most valuable player should be the most valuable player at the most valuable time in the game. Everyone says its not a game until the final 5 minutes anyway.

LBJ carry his team to the end, but Kobe will pull his team through in the end.

this is wat lebron need to add to his game to take the title of best player on the planet…he needs to stop learnin these diff hand shakes and dance moves and pay attention to kobe sir clutchness bryant….

i think after realizing how lebron struggles to chock his oppenents during the last part of the game like the recent games in denver and magic…that he still has a ways to go to become top 5 players of all time..its seem ppl are ready to give him that title now

well damn, as i asked for earlier, either mayo or gay have the ball with 6 seconds…except mayo only had 4. he had his opportunity to hit a game winner and it didn’t go…but i feel more disappointed by those missed free throws, it’s the only reason the lakers could overcome the grizzlies tonight, and please don’t tell me otherwise. good win for the lakers and a lesson learner for the growing grizz!

Lakers were down and clawed their way back up…you gotta learn to give credit when its due dont be a sore looser cuz your team couldnt keep a lead…but i guess everyone does that for their team

d-grizzly, lets give credit where it’s due. I’m pretty sure kobe hitting two 3’s in the final minute had something to do with this vctory. I gave the grizzlies their credit a few weeks ago when they won at the end. Yes mayo missed two huge ft’s. But the lakers didn’t have anything given to them, they won it.

i did say good win for the lakers, and a lesson learner for the grizz. it simply came down to mayo’s free throws and he didn’t pull through, at that point they knew who would get the ball for revenge, and there’s nothing really to stop kobe when it’s on the line. i wasn’t disappointed that mayo missed the buzzer shot, but i was angry he missed the free throws to seal the deal. kobe played great and the lakers finished out, that is their credit.
