marcusfizer21ParticipantI like Luol Deng… He has been a major piece to my Chicago Bulls for a long time… Barring injuries, Lu is a hard worker… He has an excellent mid range game, improved three-point shooting and of course, the ability to guard multiple position with his 6’9 frame and freakishly long arms… He has contained most guys like Carmelo, Paul Pierce, LeBron (at times) etc… He is an ultimate professional and is pretty much likeable in the locker room.. You would definitely want to have a guy like Lu… But at the right price…
As much as I like Luol Deng, he is NOT worth his asking price… It annoys me that he thinks he’s worth that much but to me he’s pretty much at $8-10 million guy range… The one thing I respect about the Bulls is that they did want to keep Deng out of loyalty and what he has done for the franchise in general… They offered him a last chance to sign a 3 year deal worth $30 million but as expected, he declined and decided to pursue free agency where he allegedly is seeking $14-15 million a year… The Bulls had no choice but to trade him rather than risk losing him for nothing… When you’re a guy who’s averaging 16 ppg 6 rpg over the past season not to mention the injuries and inconsistencies on most nights, you’re not worth $14 million a year (not even $12 million)…
He will find a team that will idiotically pay him what he wants but I’ll tell you right now, he is NOT worth the asking price and I would be laughing at the team that do overpay for his services…
Miami? Dallas? LA Clips? Good luck in pursuing Lu…

SpacegrassParticipantI like Deng as much as anyone to replace Lebron in Miami. Deng , Marion , and Kawhi have defended James as well as anybody in the league the last 3-4 years. I think Riley and Spoelstra know this and getting Deng with Bosh and Wade they can compete for a top 3 seed in the east. Plus Spo and Riley know Lebrons game well and Deng can neutralize James defensively.

rickybobbyParticipantI like Deng alot but i don’t think he’s a 14 mil a yr player either, 12 maybe. But with guys who are less skilled getting 7,8,9 mil like Marvin Williams, Ariza, and Jordan Hill even if he a big he’s average at best. Shit Bosh just got the max and Channing Frye getting 8 mil a yr. And Deng is alot better than each of those guys except Bosh. So you really can’t be mad at a guy for trying to get his money when almost everyone else around the league is overpaid so why cant he be?

HitsterParticipantWhen Gordon Hayward gets $63 million over 4 years, it makes Deng worth more than $10 million surely. He’ll be a good fit for Miami and his lack nof offers for the first part of FA was surely due to teams waiting to see what Melo and especially LeBron did.
I have been surprised that Dallas never made an offer for him though.
