I actually think he has a chance to get 12-15 mpg next season. His role will be similar to the role Leon Powe was in before he left for Cleveland. He looks like a good bet to be in the rotation next year as an energetic pick and roll/pop player who makes open shots.

Than bonner and scal. BETTER scorer. He can come off the bench and hit shots off screens, set shots and corner threes. He will be a more physical player than Scal, and Bonner. 8-10 a game. Has to work on his D. Might take time to crack rotation, but could surprise. Sniper from three

I don’t know about traded, but I do think if he plays well (at least to the level that they could see him taking Big Baby’s time in the future) he could be kept over Davis in 2011and they won’t miss a beat. I think he was picked as an insurance pick for if this Big Baby situation does play out like you think

i just see a trade so they can get some talent back plus he looked great in the playoffs and other teams could over play for him

Glen Davis and a 2nd round pick for Bayless and Fernandez

Portland drafted a point guard for some reason, must mean they are un happy with Bayless or something

    Portland
    Miller – Johnson
    Roy – Williams
    Batum – Babbit
    Aldridge – Big Baby
    Oden – Camby

i was always high on gody because im one of those people who doesnt fall in love with that shit about measurements and ”his game wont translate to the league” . My theory is if you’re a baller and you’re dominant in college, you got a good shot to succeed in the league. Chances are somebody who dominates the big east for 4 years will do work in the league

It’s only summer leauge but I thnk he will be a good rotation player. I thunk he’s better then big baby was as a rookie as far as scoring. This is a great pick up ,like I said before, for Boston. I’m glad he’s dong well cuz so many on here didn’t like him becauses he’s not real tall or fast and can’t jump out the gym. Too many people out there and on here look at size and athletic ability and forget about skill and basketbal lIQ

JNixon-Iggy9, I think that comparison to Leon Powe was right on the money.

I repeatedly said prior to the draft that nobody can tell me there are 50 draft eligible players better than Luke Harangody. I realize the summer league doesn’t mean much, but now it looks like he will be next year’s version of DeJuan Blair, once again making numerous NBA GMs look stupid.

This is a guy who dominated the Big East, one of the premier conferences in the country. And as I always say on this website, finding guys who can both score and rebound is very difficult. Get’em while you can.

    Danny Ainge, great move!

apart from being big, white, and white, ‘Gody really doesnt have many similarities to Bonner and Scal. He is much more active and much more effective in just about every aspect but shooting. That said, by his summer league he does have a nice stroke.

omar dayze, why are you comparing Harangody with Bonner and Scalabrine? Yes they’re all white, but they have almost nothing in common on the court.

JNixon-Iggy9’s comparison with Leon Powe was a far better one. Both guys can score and rebound, something neither Bonner nor Scalabrine can do.

In fact, other than occupying his seat at the end of the bench, I can’t think of anything Scalabrine can do.

Teams LOVE when they have a player in there 10-15 zone on their roster that will eat people alive in the weight room and on the practice floor. Its the NBA, so they dont get guys like that just for the sake of it, but if you can play AND bring that winning attitude, teams will want you. Good teams.

JNixon-Iggy9, it’s really nice to have people like you who truly understand basketball.

For you other foolish people who are comparing Harangody with Scalabrine and Bonner just because they’re white, please do some reading, thinking, and open your minds a little. We’re in the 21st Century, It’s time to stop thinking along racial lines.

This is hard to believe, comparing Harangody, a guy who dominated the Big East, with Brian Scalabrine, who spent his entire career sitting on the end of a bench.
