jaycee24ParticipantYou can’t disrespect your team and the game by giving up with 7 minutes to go. I was literally sick to my stomach watching that.

TomShoeParticipantCome on man, LeBron was amazing. It’s not his fault Chalmers & Battier were trash, or Wade was mediocre, or Bosh didn’t assert himself.

Raef LaFrentzParticipantYou are dumb then. LeBron was the Only Heat player who actually did anything worth a damn in this series.
The Spurs were the better team. They didn’t have the best player, but that’s not what winning a championship is all about.

Hacker90ParticipantPlayed 41 minutes despite sitting out those last 7. Dropped 31,10 and 5. Unfortunately it was pretty evident there wasn’t any comeback happening. Spurs were just way too dominant after the 22-6 lead the Heat had.

doubledribblerParticipantWhat I saw was a guy with an unbelieveable amount of frustration. It probably wasn’t right that he quit at the end of the game, but his teammates gave up on him pretty much all series. It gets to a point when you literally do everything and you get nothing from everyone else that you sort of implode. The guy was on his way to probably a pretty efficient 40 point game if his team kept it close and once again led the team in rebounds, assists and points. You could watch him at various times in the series on defense switch to the guy that was hot and then the guy he was guarding before starts scoring. You can’t have him do everything and it probably makes it worse that he took an even bigger load this season for Wade to get extra rest and then get nothing from him when they needed him the most.
Point blank, Spurs played the game the way they wanted to and executed. The better team won, but when you are getting blown out like that on that stage night after night after night, the blame definitely goes on the players.

jaycee24ParticipantI’m the worst kind of fan? Lebron and everyone else views him as the best in the game and he Lebron, down by what 16 with 7 minutes to go calls it quits with 7 minutes to go and sulks….on the other side of the court…did he not want to win. I’m saying Lebron in that situation should of played like his life depended on it and he stopped playing. I can’t understand what excuses that behavior from the ambassador of the game

Snubs15ParticipantI agree 100%. He just completely gave up on the team only down by like 15 points. You can’t just quit on your team like that and pretend like you already know you’ve lost the game… With 7 minutes left you can score a ton of points, T Mac did 13 in 35 seconds. The game was clearly not over.

BallinmvpParticipantHonestly, lebron has carried the team during the finals, they were getting destroyed and he still kept playing. Saying you lost respect for someone who has been playing his butt off with little to no help is shortsighted. The spurs were clearly the better team and they flexed it, unless lebron averaged 40 8,8 for the series, the heat really had no chance.

Pacers_Fan33ParticipantI know this has already been pointed out, but did you ever think that he played nearly the entire game up to that point? Not only did he carry the load offensively for the majority of the game, but he also played very good defense for 41 minutes!!! I think of it as Spoelstra giving him a small rest and then if the heat were to make a small run without him, then they would put him back in. But, just like the rest of the series the Heat without Lebron played like a team that doesnt even belong in the playoffs. Cleveland 2.0 anyone?

properbreaksParticipantTruth is, he’s right…. He didn’t embarass himself, but he didn’t play with any urgency at all in the 4th. It was over to him when they were down by 14 with somewhere between 7 and 9 minutes to go and you just don’t see that often from the GREATS of the GAME.
I felt like he didn’t play badly today or through the whole series for that matter, but once again he didn’t show that will to carry his team a whole game. He had a good game, but if he’s the man, he was supposed to be in full attack mode in the 4th quarter period. Win lose or draw. Why do you think he not only signed up to play with Bosh, but also Wade? Because he simply doesn’t want to be the man all 48 minutes.
People act like "the decision" never happened now that he has won two championships, but how WASN’T he going to win a few with Chris Bosh and Dwayn Wade? Buttom line that is why he did it. That’s a trumped up deck.
He isn’t as good as Larry Bird or Majic PERIOD, and when I hear people saying he’s better than Jordan now I just shake my head and laugh. He can get better, he always gets better and can be top 5 all time, but you really saw the difference this series when he didn’t have Wade to lean on. They still had a more talented team and they got obliterated.

HaleParticipantThe only time he’s ever leaned on Wade in the Finals…they lost. LeBron won two in a row with Wade putting up borderline all star numbers while James was being his usual MVP self. This year he nearly doubled Wade’s production while leading the team in points, rebounds, assists and steals. He shot 57% from the floor, 52% from deep and 79% from the line. I swear some people around here are just complete idiots and if you are putting blame on LeBron James for losing, you are absolutely one of them.

Pro-21ParticipantLeBron left the cabs to have the same sort of advantages magic and Bird had. I don’t remember Larry bird successfully guarding the other teams best player while also needing to score the most points. The same goes for magic. Both played with teams far more well rounded than lebron, but people like you completely overlook that fact. The truth is that DWade has played at a fringe Allstar level and same with bosh. Besides them and Ray Allen, the rest of the heat’s players aren’t even top 100 in the league.
Michael Jordan leaned on Scottie Pippen heavily. In game one of the 91 nba finals mj guarded magic, got tired and lost. Scottie pipped guarded magic for the rest of the series and we didn’t hear much from Mr.Johnson after that. And he still got 20 ppg and was an MVP candidate in ’94. This finals showed us that LeBron couldn’t depend on anyone on the heat doing their job. Go learn about basketball please, thank you.

IndianaBasketballParticipantWhen the Heat win, it’s because LBJ was amazing. When the Heat lose, it’s because his teammates, coaching, etc aren’t good enough. Hasn’t that been the story since his days in Cleveland?
I think people are overrating LeBron’s performance and I think that’s been the case the last two games. Sure, he was great in the 1st quarter scoring 17 points, hustling, etc. However, he scored 14 points the rest of the game and seemed to not be engaged defensively. Speaking of defense, the Heat’s defense has slipped all together, LeBron included. Offensively, LBJ was 5/7 in the 1st quarter and was active. The rest of the game, he just seemed to settle. 1/4 in the 2nd quarter. 2/5 in the 3rd quarter. 2/4 in the 4th. And the OP is right… When the lead was cut under 20 points, LBJ left the game and did not return.
I’m not saying it’s only LBJ’s fault they lost. I mean, he at least has showed up. He had a very good series. I just don’t think he should get a pass, while his teammates are thrown under the bus. The Heat lost this series because they didn’t defend and LBJ is included. And offensively, playing hero/aau ball failed the Heat. It was sad to me that the Heat, despite being more talented on their worst day, looked just like the Cavs. LBJ dribbling at the top with Allen (playing the role of Anthony Parker or Mo Williams), D Wade (playing the role of Delonte West), Bosh (Antawn Jamison or Illguaskas) and Birdman (Anderson Verajao).
I think it’s time that LBJ plays in an actual system and the offense isn’t so centered around him doing everything. Bosh is capable of doing more than just shooting jumpshots. D. Wade isn’t who he used to be, but he’s capable of more than this.
Other than that, I just think the Spurs deserve all of the credit. They were the better team at both ends of the floor and they just ran a clinic that was great/fun to watch.

Jester87ParticipantWell I believe things are a lot more polarized. There are many people just waiting for the Heat to lose so that they can put all the blame on LeBron. I agree he played some sloppy defense, but mostly in game 1 and 3. But I don’t think it happened last night, he guarded Parker and did an excellent job (though a lot is on Spo who decided to defend on Parker the same way the Mavs did in the first round and on Parker struggling with his jumper). He slowed down after the first quarter, but he couldn’t carry his team’s offense for the whole game while guarding Parker. And he got little to no support from his teammates. I think it was frustrating for him. I agree that it’s not all on his teammates, but in my opinion yesterday LeBron couldn’t have done much more, if I have to criticize him I’d do for game 3.

jaycee24ParticipantI’m not talking about how he played, he’s obviously great he’s the best I can’t name a flaw in his game seriously. No Dwayne Wade wasn’t good and the rest of them weren’t good enough to win. I have no issue with James and how he competed but what I AM sick about is how he quit with the game still in contention. I don’t care how many minutes he played what he did, what the rest of the heat didn’t do….you got millions of people watching you and how you represent yourself and the game and he stops because his team isn’t helping him enough…Boo hoo. But all people want to say is well the Heat couldn’t of won anyways he doesn’t have any help blah blah which is all very reasonable to say but the game truly ended when Lebron gave up period. He showed me he doesn’t have any guts like a Kobe like a Westbrook like a Manu like a KG like Dwayne. He’s soft spiritually and mentally man the proof came with 7 minutes to go last night
