magmo68ParticipantI think Lorenzo Brown out out NC State will be the best player in this draft class. His game was made for the NBA.

lockdownDI also believe his game is made for the NBA. His ability to push a break knowing where everybody on the court is special.
His handles in the halfcourt are a bit TO prone, and his shot needs more consistency, but I believe he will improve. He was a shooting guard/combo asked to play pass first PG, so his development has been delayed by this transition.
At 6’5 he is faster and has more creative handles than Michael Carter Williams, though MCW is better in the half-court settings.
Lorenzo Brown is a PG and should be labeled a PG as much as MCW gets the PG label.0 - Posted on: Tue, 04/09/2013 - 12:04pm #761502

druneave3ParticipantSo if you, magmo68, are the GM of an NBA team, and you have final decision on the draft, and you have the #1 overall pick, would take Lorenzo Brown? And your icon is a championship ring? Good Luck.

LindseyParticipantNot gonna disagree with you, but it’s pretty much “good luck” for any top flight prospects in this draft.

surveParticipantI too am high on Brown. If I had to guess between who would turn out to be the best PG’s out of this draft I would say Burke and Brown. no knock against MCW or Smart, but thats just my personal hunch.

WolfRobParticipantbold bold prediction.. aren’t gonna find many people that agree with you. He has potential to be a quality player in the league, but pretty much less than 1% chance he is the best player in this class.

surveParticipantI disagree that his chances are much less than 1%. I think Noel should be the #1 pick, but I think his chances of being the best player out of the draft is limited. This is not a strong draft on paper. Every top prospect has serious question marks about them. Noel, Oladipo, Ben Mac, Shabazz, lol, the list goes on and on. About the safest guy to pick is Burke or Porter…but that wont mean they will be the best either.
Brown has some serious questions too, but as a darkhorse, he has some things to be excited about. I dont know of a PG with his blend of size, athleticism, handle, and vision on the collegiate level. He is unique and stands alone in that category. So those things are big pluses. Despite what people say he has heart and was a good leader for NC State, they had other issues.
In the half court is where he needs the biggest work. He has a good jumpshot he just has to work on consistency and range. He can create his own shot and can hit shots off balance. His handle in the half court can get him to the rim easily…seen him do it many times. The problem is, he is not very strong and has a problem finishing at the rim.
Its not as bold a prediction as you make it out to be in a draft that will likely see some of its best players come from the 2nd round….which is where Brown could fall.

rileymcshea3ParticipantI would be surprised if Brown ever becomes a starter in the NBA

IknoBall12ParticipantIdk if he will be a all star or anything. To tell the truth he may just be 1 of those guys who are just very entertaining to watch. I’m not too worried about the jumpshot because he will have plenty of time to work on that at the next level.

Mr. 19134ParticipantI thought the Ricky Ledo will be the best player in this draft thread was more realistic.

surveParticipantLedo definitely has the upside but he is a mystery…especially because of his rumored attitude issues that have been talked about since he was in HS.
Brown physically reminds me of Jamal Crawford as far as size (they are almost identical), athleticism, and handle (even though Jamal is more dazzling with his dribble). Their games are not similar at all though.
