festar35ParticipantI’m not talking about Cousins to NO.
I’m referring to Nurkic and 1st rounder for Plumlee and 2nd rounder. Since joining the Blazers Nurkic is averaging 15ppg-10rpg and has breathed new life into Portland who are on a role and now into the 8th seed. On top of all this the Blazers managed to make off with a 2017 draft pick via Memphis.
Not hating on Plumlee who is at about 9ppg-6rpg in a bench role, but Nurkic looks like a future starting C for years to come at only 22 and man is he a good fit for the Lillard/McCollum duo.
Loved watching he and Jokic go head to head.

OhCanada-ParticipantWatched the game yesterday. Give all credit to Nurkic he got a career like 33 points all kinds of offensive rebound well over 60% shooting but Denvers defense was absolutely mindblowing. Soo bad. Jokic looks like he is in slow motion gaurding Nurkic and Nurkic isnt the quickest fellow despite being agile for his size. You would think Denver would try a bit harder considering the playoff implications but aside from Harris who got torched they played like it was an exhibition game on the defensive end.
Love the fact that Lilliard doesnt mimd differing to Nurkic and running the offense through him. I wish the Raptors did this more consistently with Valanciunas. Lilliard really isnt much of a PG most of his assists come off of quick hit lasses to open players through Terry Stotts calling set plays. In the iso he isnt very good at creating shots for teammates unless its a set play or he draws help on penetration.

Reptilian MonkParticipantCrazy in the super hyped 2014 draft class. Nuggets drafted Nurkic at 16 who is looking like a potential All Star, Garry Harris at 19 who is a solid starter, they got both those picks by trading their 11th pick to the Bulls who took McDermott who hasn’t panned out yet. Oh and they drafted Nikola Jokic at 41, who looks like a potetnial All Star. Great draft even though they traded away Nurkic,

natevalParticipantCeltics really missed out on not making a move for Nurkic. Could have been a game changer

BeastMode716Participantthey knew that Jokic & Nurkic were very close in talent level
but b/c everyone Knew they could not keep both Centers, there was no way that Denver could squueze True value out of Nurkic in any trade.
They just have to do the best they can, get the most Value possible & move on w/ their own team & never look back.
Jokic is a Very good young Center but he is not a Rim protector.Nurkic is the Bigger man but he’s not much of a Defender either.

MatosParticipantstill makes no sense to give up a first rounder with him. Even without it you can haul in more than Plumlee

Andv1 WaitingParticipantNuggets got a defensive big who they could pair with Jokic and may help longterm chemistry if he is fine with either role(bench/Starter) as Nurkic may have believed he was the starter and could have stunted Jokic..
Blazers got Cap relief as Nurkic is on a rookie deal for a little longer and helps them not having to pay him this offseason+ gives them a 3rd consisten scoring option…
Me personally I think with them both being so close in the standings, it is far to early to say who won this deal it will all depend on who can resign their player and who wins more games during the period they had that player(if kept). As this deal could eventually turn into a pick for a player(if Nurkic not kept due to playing him out of their price range) or a player and a pick for nothing(if the nugget don’t reup Mason)..
