Crvena Zvezda celebrates in friendly against Bayern Munich – Oct 6, 2011 (by Eurobasket News)
Crvena Zvezda Beograd – Bayern Munich 80-55
Crvena Zvezda Beograd and Bayern Munich met in a friendly game last night. Crvena Zvezda was the host and celebrated easy 80-55 victory. Adam Morrison (203-F-84, agency: Priority Sports, college:Gonzaga) paced the Serbian squad with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Filip Covic (180-G-89, agency:Interperformances) scored 10 points, while Petar Popovic (211-C-79) and Nikola Markovic (208-F/C-89) followed him with one less. On the other side, Philipp Schwethelm (201-F-89, agency: Pro One Sports) was the leading scorer with 12 points. Jonathan Wallace (187-G-86, agency: Pro One Sports, college:Georgetown) and Bogdan Radosavljevic (211-C-93) posted 11 and 9 points respectively. Crvena Zvezda took control on Bayern from the very beginning. They made impressive 26-11 lead in the first ten minutes. Bayern came to minus ten until the halftime (43-33), but Adam Morrison and his teammates responded with 17-9 in Q3. They also were better in the last ten minutes 20-13 for the final 80-55 victory.
Good for him…While he might not get as much exposure as he once did….due to the fact he was so easy to spot at every televised Laker game (always was wearing an UGLY brown coat on the BENCH…lol) at least he’s still trying to ball.

iguapops420ParticipantGood to see the old school Zag Morrison look back. Like Pauly Shore, the day his hair was cut, was the day his career truely ended.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantIts Funny now..But there were alot of people back in 2006..That thought he should’ve went number 1..
He looked like he was about to be a decent player in his rookie year, before he got hurt..But when he returned he didnt have that Moxie he showed at Gonzaga…

durantula83ParticipantIn the NBA they never took him serious anymore after his injury, the Lakers was just the worst place for him to end up with. Hardly any garbage minutes, which caused him to try to force thing to show he still could ball and that’s always a bad thing. But hey, what to you want when you get 3 minutes of playing time if you’re lucky.
He’s gonna become a legend in Serbia. Basketball is a religion over there just as it was for Morrison in his early days. If there’s one thing they love then it’s a passionate player, I can see Morrison revive his career there and play his best basketball of his career. The fans go to war for their players, and the great passion is just the push in the back Adam needs for getting back where he once was.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantMorrison had 23 points yesterday against Hemofarm STADA.

I May Be WrongParticipantIf this guy can’t get a job with the NBA, I don’t know why he can’t get a job with Head and Shoulders. Move outta the way Troy Polamalu!

omphalosParticipantNice to see Morrison not only playing, but playing with passion. A successful year in Serbia in the shape he seems to be in might convince some team in need of depth to take a chance on him as a role player, he’s only 26 years old after all.
But I’d rather stick around in Serbia and be a legend than come back to the NBA and be a laughing stock.
