So I thought it would be fitting to discuss reingning MVP MikeyVTheDon first.  He is obviously knowledgeable, though he turns some posters off with his essay posts and his somewhat arrogant demeanor.  What do you think of him?

I do not know how I am arrogant by disagreeing with people and trying to back things up with facts. I guess I try very hard to get everyone to understand what I am saying and prevent follow-ups or little one post blurbs. There is a lot to read on the internet about basketball, but I find that a lot gets left out in efforts to churn more out rather than educate. If that is being arrogant, I guess I am. Do not always think I am right, usually will admit if I am wrong, but sometimes I feel that people mistake my intent, which is actually usually supposed to be humorous rather than antagonistic.

How is he arrogant? Do you even know what arrogant means?

Arrogant – an exagerrated sense of own’s own importance or abilities

I don’t see how Mikey V is arrogant. He finishes his posts stong, he is an effective writer and gets to the point and can back them up with fact. There is nothing wrong with that and that definitely doesn’t make you "arrogant"

I seriously think people are jealous of people who can finish strong in their writing skills. Majority of people seem to have an issue with people who speak their minds effectively on this website…

I do no think he’s arrogant but I do think he can come off as a bit pretentious because of his long essays and sometimes points out grammatical errors.  But hey, if I was able to write long reponses while everything backs up my argument, I would do it too.  As a matter of fact, my responses have become more like MikeyV’s, both is length and volume of facts.  To be quite honest, I’d rather read one of his multi-paragraph replies over "durnat iz bettr than mel0" anyday of the week.

Overall, he’s part of the Big3 on this site, along with IndianaBasketball and JNixon, as they all are at the helm of being the best posters on here.

mikeyv doesn’t strike me as arrogant at all. Seems pretty down to earth, especially for an MVP-caliber poster.

One of the best, someone who I can disagree with and have a legit conversation as to why.  I don’t think he is arrogant, he’s just confident in what he knows….a lot about basketball.

MikeyV is honestly the best poster on here.  Regardless of points.

First, I’d like to take back my characterization of MikeyV as "arrogant", although I would wager that there is at least one poster who would describe him as such.  Perhaps "pompous" would be a little better, but in a mostly positive way.  I, myself, do not think he is arrogant.

MikeyV is definitely one of the most educated and eloquent posters here.  He puts more effort than anyone into clearly stating his views, as evidenced by his lengthy disseertations, and I respect him for that.  at times, he may take things too seriously and complain about all the off-topic threads people like me start, but he is certainly a huge asset to the forum.  I just wish he liked me…

We are cool. You obviously have missed a few of my recent posts. But, I would like if you talked more legit basketball, maybe answered my questions regarding "Legitimate Starters" a little more clearly. You wanted me to follow through, just want the same. One quality of mine is, if I put effort into discussing something, than feel very little is given back, I either get frustrated or lose interest.

You started off as a troll, think even you would admit that. I mean, some of my closest friends on the site do very little as far as starting raw, on-topic threads. Felt like you were maybe trying to hard, at a strange angle. Have seen many a troll on this site drown these boards, maybe I am a tad protective. Dude, people will like you if you are just yourself. Since you are starting to be that, showing you are actually an enthusiastic basketball fan with real (first) world problems (like the rest of us), than I personally am starting to like you more.

When you were in "character" as ProudGrandpa, than I had a very hard time relating to you. Shoot, my Grandpa would have a hard time relating to you. Obviously, you have your own sense of humor. I do as well. Sometimes I am damn serious. Most of the time, I just am writing down my opinion and coming up with what I deem at the time as potentially witty monologue.

The internet is a big time boredom killer for most. I get bored seeing the same thing over and over again. That is why I write to maybe teach, give a different perspective, learn a different perspective, bump some tunes and share some laughs. I may be a pain in the @ss to some, but as I always say, I can forgive and I can change. If others can do the same, very open to reconciling any differences we may have had.

I didnt even see this. Mr. V is a bro till the end….how would Mikey put it….Bro or Bruh: Slang used primarily in the USA, Australia and New Zealand by teenage and young adult men to describe a male close friend. This term is currently used to describe the modern generation of college-age male party goers. A bro is someone who one identifies with on a deeper level. While partying might influence one’s bros, true bros stick by each other through thick and thin. While one male might call another a bro, the true bro is a person who is the male’s brother, a friend so close, that blood relations do not matter.

    bro-fist

But yeah from music to movies to NBA Mikey V is like a dictionary…just with more words

I can only dream that when I grow up I can form long paragraphs like he
