Are you saying with this you think Brook Lopez is better than Al Jefferson?  You have to be kidding.

Maybe his ceiling ability-wise is Aldridge, but not stylistically. He might shoot as well as all 3 of those guys today. He might be one of the best 3 or 4 shooters in the whole draft. I’m not sold on all the other aspects of his game yet, but dude can shoot.

Trey can also develop into a prime Carlos Boozer type player if he works hard enough. The kids has a decent midrange jumper that was a big part of boozer’s game. Moreover he can score a couple buckets here and there in the paint. Dispite Trey good wingspan, he will likely stuggle to guard above average Pf scorers like Boozer.

Myles Turner was the projected #1 pick until he chose the wrong college, with too much depth and the worst coach in D1.

Porzingis isn’t from NYC or Chicago so espn has never heard of him.

Dajuan Wagner and Telfair were "always" special talents in youth and high school.

Sometimes "always a special talent" just means "early bloomer from big city" and nothing more.

    Porzingis comes from freaking Latvia.

The big city known as ACC BASKETBALL, as featured nightly at Eastern Standard Time. You know, the most valuable couple hours in television. You’re talking Prime Time television attraction, nationwide, but especially for the NYC metro area Sports writers.

FOUR years of prime time. Full House and Home Improvement were only on TV once a week, less than Tim Duncan.

So he created hype because he was a can’t miss, incredible prospect?  Yes, exactly.  He was known as a special talent NOT because of where he played or where he was from.

If he had played at New Mexico or Oregon State it would have been a disadvantage, and he wouldn’t have been as "proven" as playing in the ACC against the best competition in college basketball, in front of millions of people watching his games on TV.

I know this is a random one, but he’s probably the player I’m most familiar with in this incoming rookie class, so…

    Branden Dawson:

    Upper limit: Gerald Wallace

Lower limit: A poor man’s Tyrus Thomas

Likely outcome: Luc Richard Mbah a Moute (This one’s not perfect… Dawson’s not your typical tweener. He can be a liability in the half-court at times. He never developed a shot, handles, and he never even really developed any back-to-the-basket moves. Simply, he’s probably going to struggle offensively in the NBA in any capacity other than transition play. I’m also not sure he’s particularly good enough at one thing, like rebounding or defense, to find a role as a niche player on a higher level of play, but I hope he proves me wrong.)
