LeroyJenkinsParticipantBruh thought he was being noble and better than everyone, for signing for less money to piggyback for a championship
This is the same dude who turned down the Celtics in 2013 because he thought they weren’t going anywhere? Looks like you ain’t either ಠ_ಠ

GBeeParticipantJust took a peek at his career earnings.
Over 87 million.
If I’m supposed to laugh at him then what am I supposed to do to you OP?

PicknPopPaulieParticipantYou could use that tactic every single time someone posts something negative about any player. "well, dude made all this money so…you’re the fool and he’s a rich man so shut up" We’re here as basketball fans and we’re allowed to talk smack about a rich basketball players decisions no?

GBeeParticipantGo ahead talk smack. Idgaf. No one is immune from being called a bitch, but if I don’t think you have a legit reason then I’m callin YOU a bitch. Isn’t that how the internet works? What are we supposed to be laughing at him for? Sacrificing at the tail end of his career for a chance at something special that he might not ever experience?
He signed on to play for a team who had a historically good regular season that was only surpassed by what the Warriors accomplished this season. They got beat. Big deal. He took his shot. I’m not gonna knock him for it.

BiggysmallsParticipantWell sure we can talk smack about their decisons…though I won’t on Wests. He went to a team that won 67 games this year. They didn’t win the title, but if we are going to laugh at every vet who takes less money to go title chasing, only to end up not winning the title, we’ll be here forever.
And wasn’t he right about the Celtics not going anywhere in 2013?

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantHow dare someone take less money for the opportunity to play for a contender? What a tool.
I’d bet you were also one who criticized Kobe for taking such a big salary at the end of his career.

ExumInfernoParticipantHe was a ring chaser, it didn’t work this year, but was a good choice. Less tax in Texas, so his low salary wasn’t as a low as in other places, and after many years of lots of money he had one season of something that is still lots of money to most for a chance to win it all and be someone remembered as a champion.

LeroyJenkinsParticipantI would slap him in his bald head and then lock him in the STFU.
I hate when people get online and talk tough.
My opinion is my opinion if you got a problem with it turn on your PS3 and see me in 2K15. I’m still saving for 16.

HitsterParticipantRather stupid and immature post to be honest, lots of guys have opted out of money. Are we laughing at D-Wade opting out in 2014 and losing money?
Plus David West has always been a very solid pro who worked hard to get to the level that he did and is the sort of guy who a lot of neutrals would like to see win a title.
David has huge career earnings and it says a lot for his humbleness that he sacrificed a lot of salary to look for a title. He could have easily played this season with the Pacers put up decent numbers, mentored Turner etc. Then this summer looked at all options and maybe jumped onto a real legit contender but he did that a year early so full credit to him.
If he does opt out this summer, I’d imagine a lot of contenders would still be chasing him.
