Celtics3178ParticipantWe all new it was coming Lebron to LA. Does cousins join him?? Can they land kawahi?
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/01/2018 - 2:18pm #1121061

HitsterParticipant$154 million over 4 years, that takes him up to 37. Lets see if the court will be assembled around King James.

OhCanada-ParticipantWow. Gotta say Im shocked.
0- Posted on: Sun, 07/01/2018 - 2:27pm #1121064

BrentSuriaga01ParticipantLebronto is over. But still, somebody will beat the Raptors in the playoffs.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/01/2018 - 2:46pm #1121077
whiteflashParticipantSame. Repeatedly wrote on here that he wouldn’t go West. Guess I was wrong. He better buckle up and hope he gets help, ’cause all the league mandated ref bailouts in the world aren’t getting that team to the Playoffs. You gotta assume they’ve got someone else in the bag.
0- Posted on: Sun, 07/01/2018 - 4:59pm #1121124

ChoppyParticipantYep, I’m on record as saying he wouldn’t go to the Lakers. Dumb move in my opinion. IF they get Cousins, we don’t know what he’ll come back like. Could be a long adjustment period.
Spurs will probably just hold onto Kawhi just so he won’t go to Lakers for Y1 of the LeBron show. And they’ll have to gut the team to get him if the spurs relent and do trade him there.
Even with LeBron, Cousins and Kawhi, it’s doubtful they’ll be better than the Warriors or even the Rockets. Say goodbye to your Final’s streak LeBron…

Kwame33ParticipantI’m only shocked in the sense that almost any decision he made would have compelled me, but if you think about it, the Laker talk had been going on for quite some time so I guess in retrospect it’s not too surprising. Anyway, Unless they pick up another player this team is a fringe playoff squad, but something tells me they aren’t done yet.

nick5354ParticipantLebron gave the cavs their long awaited Champioship along with 3 other finals appreances and a whole lot of success. Goodluck to him.
At the same time * quickly seeing if Cleveland has their draft picks for the next three-four years *

220ParticipantDavid Griffin lottery protected all the Cavs picks he traded while he was the GM for a contingency such as this.

xJumpManxParticipantPiss and Purple colors next year. I will be laughing as he sits at home during finals next season.
0- Posted on: Sun, 07/01/2018 - 4:01pm #1121109

BrentSuriaga01ParticipantWe will also be laughing when we see the Cavs play like garbage next season. Good luck with your team and to your delusional owner.

xJumpManxParticipantIt would be poetic justice if Lebron got hurt and his inevitble down slide occured similar to Kobes next season.

Taylor Gang MikeParticipantWow…
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/01/2018 - 2:44pm #1121073

Taylor Gang MikeParticipantI grew up loving the lakers and sixers since 96. Sad day for me because I’m not a Lebron fan. I have so much lakers gear. I am officially not a lakers fan anymore. This hurts. I loved the rebuild after my guy Kobe. oh well.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/01/2018 - 2:46pm #1121076
CoachWyersParticipantHe obviously wants to retire a Lakers, I was surprised he signed for 4 years. Haven’t seen if there are opt outs, but hope for Lakers case there is as he is 34 with a lot of milage in a few years could turn into a Kobe end of career situation. Now hope they get Clint Capela and don’t go after an injured Demarcus Cousins.
0- Posted on: Sun, 07/01/2018 - 2:55pm #1121082

BasterdInABasketParticipantOpt out after 3 according to Shams

halfdecayedParticipantThey resigned KCP for 1 year which is weird lol
0- Posted on: Sun, 07/01/2018 - 4:02pm #1121110

Reptilian MonkParticipantKcp is with Klutch sports the same as lebron, think this might mean Lebron wants Pope more of a veteran and Josh Hart and Ingram will be the main pieces traded for Kawhi along with picks.

- Posted on: Sun, 07/01/2018 - 2:53pm #1121080

220ParticipantI heard the talk, but for some reason I just didn’t think it would actually happen. The East will have a non Lebron champ for the first time in nearly a decade. Things are definitely getting interesting. The real question is who’s next. I don’t know if the Spurs will deal Leonard there, but maybe DeMarcus Cousins signs up.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/01/2018 - 2:54pm #1121081
halfdecayedParticipantCapela would make sense but the Rockets will match after losing Ariza.. They gotta get rid of Deng and trade for Kawhi I suppose
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/01/2018 - 2:56pm #1121083

BasterdInABasketParticipantSo now what? There hs to be other moves he knows about. This roster is not good as is, at all.
0- Posted on: Sun, 07/01/2018 - 3:04pm #1121085

220ParticipantCousins? He’s the best guy left assuming the Lakers can’t make a deal for Kawhi.
0- Posted on: Sun, 07/01/2018 - 3:15pm #1121091
whiteflashParticipantDespite his impressive individual numbers, Cousins has yet to make the playoffs and is coming off a potentially career altering injury. A buddy texted and said LA’s in play for both Capela and Aaron Gordon, but their respective teams can (and are expected to) match. This is a really head scratching decision to me.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/01/2018 - 3:41pm #1121099

OhCanada-ParticipantTheyre gonna get both.

- Posted on: Sun, 07/01/2018 - 3:03pm #1121084
Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantThe fact that this decision was made so quickly tells me this was about more than basketball and he has had his heart set on being in la for some time. That he signed for 4 years when he has always signed short term deals in the past tells me he wants to likely finish his career there. I was kind of shocked because our roster isn’t anywhere near contention right now and I thought we’d need to lure another star first. That might still happen but there are no guarantees at this point. But it didn’t matter. That just tells me that this decision was probably made at least a year ago and he was always going to be a laker. I’m just excited to see what happens next.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/01/2018 - 3:45pm #1121100

marcusfizer21ParticipantThis one doesn’t really hurt compared to him joining the Heat in 2010. He brought Cleveland a championship and basically, that’s all you could ask for. But going to the Lakers meant that this could be a family decision more than his career’s. He probably wanted his sons to be in a great basketball program. We’re talking about an aging LeBron and it’s going to be a tough conference to play in with the Warriors and the Rockets in there. Lakers still need to add certain players that would complement his game. Unless Lonzo works on his J, it’s going to be tough to play with LeBron.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/01/2018 - 3:53pm #1121104

RUDEBOY-ParticipantLebron KD Anthony Davis Harden Westbrook Curry . U can say the nba’s 6 best players r in the west. I didn’t mention CP3 KAT Lilliard Butler Mitchell. I was against the Nba playoff realignment . But for the Sake of Fairness and entertainment, I think it’s something the league must do now!!!
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/01/2018 - 4:32pm #1121116

r377ParticipantDoes he really want to win another championship ?
He is earning nearly $40mill per year. How can they get in other top players when lebron didn’t really take a pay cut ?
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/01/2018 - 4:39pm #1121117

BrentSuriaga01Participantjust brought in Lance Stephenson. If you don’t like that, you don’t like NBA Basketball *Grant Napear syle*

RUDEBOY-ParticipantLakers reached a deal with Javale McGee.

r377ParticipantTwo other names with rumors of Lakers. they are after Nerlens Noel and i even read Chris Bosh’s name

RUDEBOY-ParticipantBosh should relax and enjoy life.

r377ParticipantDoes someone want to guess how many Lebron Lakers jerseys will be sold this season ?
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/01/2018 - 5:54pm #1121137

MopgrassParticipantVegas odds right now… Lakers are too high…. for now:
Warriors 10/11
Celtics 7/2
Lakers 7/2
Rockets 7/1
76ers 14/1
Spurs 50/1
Thunder 60/1
Raptors 60/1
Jazz 80/1
Trail Blazers 100/1
Pelicans 100/1
Timberwolves 100/1
Nuggets 100/1
Bucks 100/1
Wizards 100/1
Pacers 100/1
Heat 300/10 - Posted on: Sun, 07/01/2018 - 6:08pm #1121139

MopgrassParticipantThey need a defensive center: Cousins, Capella, or Noel (behind Ball). They need a PG who can hit from 3. Seth Curry, Avery Bradley, etc. Do they get Randle back? I really like him as a 6th man, but not in a lineup with LeBron. Randle can’t shoot and do you need two guys playing bully ball at the same time? If not him, they need a backup PF (behind Kuzma) who can shoot and defend.
Part of the allure of Los Angeles was that LeBron likes Walton’s style of team play: it wouldn’t require him to be everything to the team. He mentioned lightening his workload before. I bet he thinks he’ll take it easy and try to be a cog in the machine… and then quickly get impatient and take over. Constantly. He needs to take an easier workload to sustain his playing level. They ran some numbers that said he runs the fewest steps in the NBA, but they ignores the immense workload of using all that upper body strength the whole game when tossing everyone around, plus the substantial dribbling. He works harder on court than anyone and he knows it. Will he be able to stop himself?

The GoatParticipantIf they can get Kawhi for Hart, Ingram, Deng and a first round pick, then they are in business. They will still need to sign a defensive 5 (Nerlens Noel?) and a backup PG, but they could roll out –
Lonzo/backup
KCP/Lance
Kawhi/Kuzma
LeBron/Wagner
Noel/McGee
Excellent defensively, while other guys can score themselves and can do it without needing Lebron.
They could still even go for another max player.
I can see the Celtics, Sixers, Warriors, Rockets and Lakers all possibly in the finals this year. A five horse race is better than most years! Philly and Boston need to play some cards they are holding.
Theres an outside chance of trouble makers joining the group, but theyd need to make serious moves – OKC, Pelicans, Spurs (where will Kawhi play?), Raps, Bucks.
It will be an interesting season!
