    From Hoopsworld

Lebron James is looking forward to teaming up with Shaquille O’Neal at the Cleveland Cavaliers next season, not least because it means he can play more often at power forward.

“Now that I have Shaq on my team I don’t need to play much center because he can definitely do that and he needs no help with doing that so I could play some power forward,” James told reporters in the Chinese capital on a 10-stop tour of the world.

“I do not have a problem with doing that. It kind of all depends on the team you are going against or the match.”

“I am excited for this upcoming season,” said James. “I think we have some players that can really help us win the NBA championships so it’s going to be a great year.” The Cavaliers open their 2009-10 season at home to the Boston Celtics on October 27.

    Think any thoughts?

I dunno. I think he can be a PF in some cases but Nightmare? Garnett? Lewis? I think they can box him out and stuff on D and Garnett I think can hit him with some classic low post moves

    LeBron gonna be playing PF??
that aint gonna work out for him
    hes a good player,
    but a pfs nightmare?
    Tim Duncan,Dirk Nowitzki,Kevin Garnett,Amar’e Stoudamire
there are too many good PFs,
LeBron should just lose weight and play the Sf
(How much weight did he gain since he was a rookie??)

that’s not good wtf did he need another 25 lbs for? especially with his style of play , and Q yea he can be a matchup nightmare at PF, he would blow by every any and every single PF in the game, and he can guard the Combo Forward PF’s.

LeBron saying he’s glad they have Shaq so he doesn’t have to play center is kinda odd, seeing as how I don’t think he’s ever really played center or would be capable of doing it. As for pf, it depends on the matchup. Elite banger type pf’s would give him hell on the boards and the low block. He will take advantage at the offensive end, but he pretty much gets whatever he wants on offense anyways. I think this is more of Lebron just talking about how he can play any position.

Yes possibly, but maybe not he is 250, 6-8 , and extremely good jumper, as long as he competes down-low and is not soft he shouldn’t have a problem.

nope he wouldnt be a nightmare. yeah he could blow by them but all that banging on the defense of end wers on all pf/c big men so that will take away from some of that 4th quarter explosiveness. lebrons post defense is nothing to write home about and he doesnt have much in the area of offense of moves in the post yet. so no i dont see match up nightmare

It’s weird that he doesn’t have a post-up game yet. A baby hook, up-and-under and a turnaround jumper might make him a nightmare. He’s still best suited for the perimeter, but a few post moves would make him even more versatile.

To me the flaw in this question is, hasn’t LeBron been a matchup nightmare at any position for three-plus years now?

yeah we all know that but during the summer there isnt alot to talk about so when a player says something like “ill play some pf” people on here jump on it and make a topic for us to talk about

I always wonder why Lebron doesn’t post up more on smaller wing players wich is pretty much all of them. Kobe has 10x the post game that Lebron has and he is like 50 pounds less.
