Lebron James, I am now recognizing will always be my favorite player of all time (FOAT).  I am 22 years old, and at this point set in my ways when it comes to sports and especially basketball.  I love MJ (recognize he is GOAT) and all the other greats from Larry, Karl, Barkley, Payton (my boy), Isiah, Hakeem, etc….but they are not TRULY my era, plain and simple.

For me what is a major sad point is the pressure put upon LeBron James not only at a young age, but consistently throughout his career regardless of his professional outcomes.

Go ahead and talk about how he crowned himself "King James" (which actually isn’t true, Nike did) or "The Decision."  But there is not a player in any professional sport that has constantly lived up to the immense amount of of hype place upon him at the age of 17.  Whether it was making the Finals for the first time at age 23, while also leading the league in scoring.  Or making 4 straight Finals appearances, and 5 total before age 30.  I understand he is not the GOAT, and probably will never be, but he will always be my favorite player of all time (along w/ many others of this generation, 1991 born year).  I have never seen and do not think I ever will see another player come into the league as a mere HS Senior (more or less) and live up to the expectations put upon him.

I guess what I am saying is…the older population or "hater" majority do not need to worry about the current generation believing LeBon is better than MJ.  Sure he is the greatest of all time.  It is like how music is viewed by older generations.  40 year olds or whatever do not like/ hate (rightfully so) the music that is made today.  That does not make it bad or any less popular than the top hits of their day.  IT IS JUST DIFFERENT.  Food for thought….Nothing will ever be the same.

I was genuinely sad and had trouble sleeping after my favorite athelte of all time lost last night.  Many know what that feels like, but MJ has hurt the basketball community in that way and made it the expectation that losing isn’t an option.  It just isn’t as simle as that.  I have started to consider MJ might be the first real life unfabricated sports folklore. It will NEVER be replicated, and we need to start viewing other atheltes as individuals and not comparing them.

I don’t think he will end up being the best of all time either but I’m willing to bank he will end up top 3.The initial reaction to this finals lost is brutal. But a few years from now if he wins one or two more it won’t be looked at in a negative way, because this was a TEAM dillemma not his own( unlike the 2011 finals and the decision). Its actually rather odd that most people that hate on LeBron are teenagers and young adults and kids , but the older generation that witnessed the MJ, Magic, Larry, and the other greats seem to appreciate LeBron( Just what I’ve seen and discussed personally).

I think Tiger Woods lived up to the hype.  He had cameras in his school when he was 10.  To win 14 majors and 80 tourneys when everyone said you’re the next big thing since you were 4 years old is pretty impressive, especially in a game thats mostly mental.  Lebron is impressive as well cause he had to do a similar thing.   Both are the most scrutinized sportsmen in the world and its because they are so talented and everyone expects them to win and dominate everything.   When they don’t everyone tries to bring them down.

Unfortunately for Lebron. he was the first mega star of the social media era, that’s why he gets all the hate that he gets.  You see it alreafy happening with Andrew Wiggins now.  Now all these idiots sitting behind a computer can spew hate, create memes and act like they are experts.
