     Lebron, Kobe and Mike Brown

Mike Brown has been criticized since he got the handles of the previous coach Phil "The Zen Master" Jackson.  And rightfully so, because the Lakers is a powerful team "on paper" i always play 2k12 with them because its easy to dominate with a future hall of famer in Kobe and two heavy post players in Bynum and Gasol.

Lets look at Mike Browns Cleveland Cavaliers at 2009
    Lebron James
Antwan Jamison: A perimeter oriented SF/PF (a bit on the decline)
Anderson Varejao: a serviceable big with hustle and limited post offence.
Mo Williams ( a servicieable perimeter scorer and realtively good playmaker)
JJ Hickson (basically a Raw rookie PF)
add Shaq and Ilgauskas (both very old and very wasted bigmen)
    The bench was somewhat respectable.
61-21, Finished 1st in NBA Central Division

Lets see Mike Brown Lakers 41-25
Kobe Bryant (ageless skilled and future hall of famer SG)
Pau Gasol ( still one of the best post scorers in NBA)
Andrew Bynum ( top 5 center in the NBA)
Meta "Knuckle head" World War, ejem World Peace ( he has lost the "it" factor but is still a decent forward.
Ramon Sessions: a Good Penetrator, has made great strides in outside shooting and is a good facilitator.

    Bench.
Barnes, (good defender) Blake (decent backup on the decline)
Mcroberts decent athletic bench big and Murphy a 3p veteran
The unexperienced Ebanks and Hill (decent bench big)

The lakers are 3-3 with the inexperienced but talented Nuggets.

The Point is this, Mike Brown has beed the coach of both teams, and is clear that the Cavaliers went a lot better even if they didnt win the championship.
Lets make a magical switch, lets exchange 2009 lebron to play with this Lakers and Todays Kobe to play with 2009 Cavaliers.
What do you think about LBJ impact with the current Lakers, do the 2009 Cavaliers would be that good with Kobe leading them?
I dont want to do any stupid jugdment, and i am not a LBJ fan, but think The 2009 Cavaliers would have suck with Kobe on them and these lakers could be Champions with Lebron on them.
I just think that James impact is greater than Kobe impact. ( i respect both players)
What do you think? ( sorry for my english, not my nativ language)

This topic compelled me to post, which I rarely do. I completely agree with your premise and conclusion. It is hard to picture Kobe taking that Cavs team to a 61-21 record, and fairly easy to picture LeBron winning a ring with 2 dominant bigs and a few good shooters. LeBron makes average players look much better – as posted on this site a few weeks ago, he leads the league in +/- every year. Problem is, average players just don’t get it done in the playoffs against great teams. That’s why I only blame LeBron for failing once: last year in the Finals. LeBron can win a ring with great players (eg. Wade and Bosh, Bynum and Pau). He’ll get it done this year, barring injuries.

To be fair I don’t think Mike Brown won 60 games his first year in Cleveland and the Lakers play in the West.

I doubt Kobe could lead the cavs to that level of success. But I think he could take him to the playoffs, after all it is a better lineup then the 2006 and 2007 lakers supporting cast.

Well at the end of the day, The Lakers team, now or even from a year ago, is a playoff team without Kobe Bryant on the roster and The Cavs team from two years ago without Lebron would have arguably been the worst team in the NBA (kind of showed last season).

That should lend some insight into prospective arguments.

^ I agree with the premise of this post but those who say that Cavs was the worst team in the NBA with out Lebron fail to relize they lost alot more than Lebron that offseason. They lost Z and Shaq to free angency, traded Delonte West, and Varejao and was hurt most of  the year and so was Mo Williams before he was traded. Jamison also missed significant time that year.

There’s ALOT of factors involved in this.  First, Kobe played in the West that had some great teams, any of which woulda been better than the Cavs, that those teams played in the East.  2nd of all regular season records don’t mean too much if you don’t have the ring at the end.   And the argument is irrelevant…they say oh lebron woulda won with another all star.  He had Jamison, he had mo williams, he had who at the time was almost defensive player of the year in Varejo.  But woulda coulda shoulda doesn’t count.  Lebron had Wade and Bosh (who does NOT get the credit he deserves) and he blew a lead in the finals last year.  I don’t see the point of this thread, other than to discredit anything Kobe’s done in his career.  Here’s the bottom line…Kobe’s got great stats and rings.  Lebron’s got great stats.

Those teams were made/designed around those respective players. If Kobe was on the Cavs they’d be missing a Forward. And if Lebron was on the Lakers they’s be missing a SG and a closer.

Lebron can Guard the 2, Metta the 3 and sessions/blake could Stretch the defense, lebron would play the point anyway.

About a closer, i dont know here, LBJ has not clutch fame, but i think this team could be so powefull that they would smash anything. Bron has never played with 2 post players like Gasol and Bynum. Size win titles.

About a SF in Cleveland, Jamison is capable to play the 3 and Hickson the 4.
