I was thinking about Lebron James and where he is gonna end up. Alot of Knicks fans here put forth the argument that Lebron should go to the Knicks to be apart of their legacy. This is no disrespect to the Knicks, and their legacy (lots of Knicks fans will boo me), but how often do players have the opportunity to be the face of a new franchise. When the Nets move to Brooklyn, he will be forever known as the first superstar of Brooklyn. I know this sounds stupid, but case in point: Kevin Durant will forever be known as the first superstar of Oklahoma City. I know they moved from Seattle and are still considered a Supersonics franchise, KD is the first superstar of the OKC era. I just think it would be equally appealing to start a new legacy in Brooklyn as its first star as it is to add onto the Knicks legacy.

I don’t think it would really matter to Lebron. Considering he is still strongly considering the Bulls, a team that clearly is branded by Jordan’s career, it shouldn’t play a big role in making his decision.

You can go with that route sure, but then that would make a stronger case for Cleveland IMO because they had no real history before LeBron.

NY has everything. They have the potential talent, the Arena, the history, the money/ endorsement opps and ( when you think about it) the hunger due to the lack of success with past talent. NYK fans long for a winner. No matter what happens, if the team wins? We don’t care. We just want to Win. LeBron coming to NY and winning one championship? That’s bigger then winning a title in every other city then Cleveland IMO

It’s a tough call. Where the Nets lack the arena and the history, they do make up for with every other category. Working for Jay-Z and a billionaire allows for lots of networking opportunities. Whereas before he just real good friends with Jigga, now he can be business partners with him. New York does have talent, but their best players are at the SF position just like Lebron. If they do go Amare and Lebron, where does that leave Gallo and Wilson? I would not want to play Amare at center… I do not envy Lebrons decision, although, I do envy the 9 digit contract he’s gonna get. I wish he would make his decision earlier.

I’m sorry to NY fans, but you guys tend to be a bit self-centered when it comes to your team. I think it’s extremely insulting to everyone else when you say that NY is the perfect place to play because they have “everything”, as if saying that they are the only team that does. There are plenty of other teams out there with more talent and just as much cap space, who have nice arenas and a large fan base, and I think it’s ridiculous to suggest that NY fans hunger for a championship because every single freaking team hungers for a championship…
