festar35ParticipantI’m not sure why but j fell like LeBron is the most likely get for the Lakers, this isn’t to say that I don’t think George or Leonard couldn’t end up there but I feel that it’ll be one of the 2 and not both.
If OKC managed to flick Anthony off I can see George turning around and going back to OKC as I think he wants to see what he and Westbrook could do with a team built round them. If George goes Lakers I think Lakers keep their young talent to go with them like Boston does.
George stays in OKC, I see a trade involving Ingram + 25th pick as starting point. (Murray & Ingram would be cool)
Otherwise I think we see a trade sort of like Indiana did with PG.
Clippers: Tobias Harris with 12th and 13th pick
76ers: Fultz or Saric with 10th pick
Nuggets: Gary Harris + Juan Hernangomez with 14th pick (they showed interest in PG)0 - Posted on: Fri, 06/15/2018 - 6:50pm #1119635
BeastMode716Participantthese rumors swirling! I am scraed ishless that Kawhi does want the Lakers but Pop will refuse to trade him to the Lakers
I also know that Boston & Phila can make much stronger offers & that Pop trust Sixers President & Coach Brett Brown implicity & knows Brown would never lie to him or screw him.
What do you guys think the Lakers can offer to land Kawhi???
I don’t believe any package w/ Lonzo works b/c a Lonzo & Dejounte Murray back court will Not work b/c neither player can play the 2/SG role b/c neither player is a good shooter & since Phila own our 2018 #10 pick we have no 1st Rnd pick to trade
So can someone Please give me some hope – what kind of trade packages would work to get Kawhi to LA???
If we land Kawhi you gotta figure Lebron is a LOCK!!!
What do you guys (& ladies think)?>?>?>?>?

ChoppyParticipantLeBron won’t go west. Ever. He’s trying to keep his finals streak alive and the Lakers even with Kawhi and LeBron aren’t getting past either Houston or Warriors. They just don’t have enough other pieces. The only western conference team that has a chance to get LeBron is Houston.

whiteflashParticipantBeen saying this for years. There’s never been a player more aware of his own legacy than James. If he were to go to the Lakers, he wouldn’t just be competing with other Western conference teams (which he’s avoided like the plague his entire career), but also with the ghosts of Lakers past. There’s literally nothing he could do that would make him a better Laker than Kobe, Shaq, West, Baylor, Magic, Kareem, Wilt, etc…. and he’d be doing it on the downside of his career. It just doesn’t make sense.

festar35ParticipantThey got to swing for the fences:
Ingram, Kuzma, 25th pick + future 1st rounder is pretty much the best thry can do, I can promise you that Pop wants nothing to do with Lonzo (Lavar) so he will staying put. (Not that high on Ingram – seems like a slightly better version of Nicolas Batum, not the KD everyone hoped for)
Given his Lakers preference this could get it done as other teams may only view him as a rental & not be willing to part with a lot, but other teams are interested and I don’t think waiting it out like with Paul George is an option for Magic this time around.

ChoppyParticipantI forgot the rule. Don’t say anything that may be seen to be against the Lakers…

Scrooge McDuckParticipantKevin Durant can go crying to his mommy. If he wins another championship I’ll kill myself. Lebrun going to philly, baby. What’s up A.I.?

EndlessknightParticipantHow in the world do you get that under the cap without getting rid of Deng?

SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantDeng will get dealt.

celtics1982ParticipantIts going to cost a ton to have a team eat that contract. He’s basically done, no chance he helps anyone or could be flipped later on if he improves. Theres only a handful of teams that can just absorb that contract. Now find one that can and would be willing to lose cap space for two years. A late first won’t do it, not for Deng and that contract that’s almost 20% of the cap. Your basically looking at the Hawks, Bulls and Kings. Kings will spend money, owners want to win, Mavs could but they won’t either. So Hawks and Bulls, cap space likely means nothing for them for the next two years. So they’d likely do it for the right price, but that’s the issue. Lakers won’t have enough and you can’t trade everyone either. You ready to trade like two future unprotected picks? It’ll be the Steve Nash trade all over again.
That doesn’t even account for the fact I don’t see Cousins turning down a 5 year deal for more money from the Pelicans.

EndlessknightParticipantTo who, for what? No one is going to take that contract without giving up a lot.

The GoatParticipantPop will not accept tha Laker trade. I highly doubt he’ll be held to ransom. He will go where they get the best package, and if that package is unacceptable, he will make him stay and play or otherwise let Kawhi sit out another season.

festar35ParticipantWhile I understand what you are saying, that’d be absolutely absurd for the franchise to hold onto him. Could be crippling if he went for nothing, San Antonio has a great reputation but they have never been a big free agent destination so Leonard will be traded, Pop will have a say but he isn’t the ultimate decision maker.

MopgrassParticipantThere’s also a rumor the Lakers take back salary to jump up in the draft to grab Zaire or Huertas. I know LeBron’s kid will go to an LA school. I’d there a possibility that the LA team is the Clippers?
